Food Sense Menu for April 2023
Projected Food $en$e List - 1 Unit $20.50 (this list is subject to change)
Chicken Tenderloins, 1.5 lb. (avg.) Ground Beef, 1 lb. Diced Pork, 1 lb. Fish Sticks, 1 lb. Eggs, Medium Dozen Mexican Cheese, 8 oz.
Brown Rice, 1 lb. Black Beans, 15 oz. Frozen Corn, 1 lb. Diced Tomato, 14.5 oz. Fresh Produce

This Month’s Specials are:
1. Chicken Wings, 5 lbs. for $7.50: The chicken wings are fully cooked and have a hint of honey flavor.
2. Lobster Bites, 15 oz. for $5.00: The lobster bites can be fried, baked in the oven, or cooked in the air-fryer.
3. St. Louis Style Ribs, 1 piece for $8.50: The pork ribs are a
St. Louis Style spare rib.
4. Italian Meatballs, 5 lbs. for $15.00: The Italian meatballs are fully-cooked and are in a five-pound bag.
5. Mozzarella Sticks, 3 lbs. for $13.00: The mozzarella sticks are par-cooked and ready for the oven.
6. Produce Box, 14 lbs. for $13.00: The produce box includes: onions (2 lbs.), apples (3 lbs.), carrots (1 lbs.), potato (5 lbs.), celery (1 sleeve), oranges (4 each), and zucchini (2 each). ***********************************************************************
** Donations are accepted to purchase Regular Boxes for those in need. **

You are not obligated to order every month.
You are encouraged to enjoy the Food $en$e savings!

Food $en$e offers everyone the opportunity to stretch their food budget dollars by purchasing quality and delicious food units at a discount - not to mention the great specials available!!
Everyone is eligible to purchase food from Food $en$e, including senior citizens, college students, singles, disabled, shut-ins, working and military families.
There are no income requirements! If you eat, you can get Food $en$e !
Food $en$e is NOT a federal, state or local government program.
It is NOT part of any social service agency or any religious organization.
It is NOT a hand-out!! Food $en$e is a "Helping Hand to stretch your Food Dollars"!!
How do you purchase food from Food $en$e ?
Register and pay in advance; At the Lowville Food Pantry
On Distribution Day you can sign up for the following month.
Pay $20.50 per unit in cash, check\money order or Food Stamps (EBT\SNAP).
More than one unit can be purchased.
In addition to the basic food “unit,” special items are available for purchase also.
Checks\Money Orders made payable to: Food $en$e
** SNAP(Food Stamps) must still be done in person or by phone or mail or email. **
Pick up your food unit on Friday at the Lowville Food Pantry.
If you are unable to pick up your order have a friend or family member pick it up for you.
Please bring a box, bag or basket for Regular Units only! Specials come prepacked.
There will be NO refunds or credits given on food not picked up!
Food must be picked up on time.
** Food not picked up on Distribution Day
will be donated to a family in need or the Local Food Pantry. **

This years 32nd Annual Senior Games are happening in Chemung County. Check out their website for more information. The games are open to anyone age 50+ from NYS. There is everything from golf to pickleball to archery!

We are excited to announce a new partnership with Ithaca College on a program called COAT, Connecting Older Adults to Technology.
We are looking for 10 adult volunteers to help connect older adults in Lewis County to technology! The volunteer, Digital Coach, would work 1 on 1 with an older adult, Digital Learner, in the community and go through 6 lessons on how to use their tablet.
