What You’ll Do:
• Investigate fires and assist local authorities
• Enforce fire codes and review building plans
• Provide training and public fire‑safety education
• Serve as an expert witness
• Travel to support fire agencies statewide

Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience with fire investigation, fire behavior, NFPA standards, and the International Fire Code
• Strong presentation and report‑writing skills

The Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that a wildfire reported on Friday, May 29, in a farm field along the westbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost 15 in rural Payette County was intentionally set.

Investigators have identified the cause of the approximately 250-acre wildfire that struck Mountain Home on Tuesday evening. A team from the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office spent Wednesday examining the area east of Flyby Road, south of Airbase Road.
