Another great annual meeting is in the books. Thank you Justice Michelle Rick and district members! The educational sessions were so great that I didn’t leave for much Detroit exploring. Blessed for this opportunity, the greatest of which was being with women judges from all over the country and 65 international women judges.

Today marks the opening of a Texas RioGrande Legal Aid office in Uvalde, with funding from Texas Access to Justice Foundation. The new office -- the first in over a decade -- will support and sustain TRLA’s ability to promote access to justice via state funding by providing civil legal services in Uvalde and the surrounding rural communities.

This hard working team has been crazy busy with trials, regular docket, and treatment court. But we have been supporting the campaign to raise breast cancer awareness. Thanks Laura for our ribbons and all contributors of pink cookies, cupcakes, doughnuts, etc. We finally had some down time for a pic as well as belated birthday celebrations. .

Happy Birthday!!! Hope you have a wonderful day today!!!🎉🎂
We delivered the clothes collected by the El Paso Executive Women Lions Club and the El Paso Association of Legal Professionals to the H.O.P.E Institute on October 7th. The best part was meeting Hope Jackson, whose divine inspiration has led her to establish this tremendous resource for female homeless veterans.
Over a decade ago, the El Paso Women's Bar Association began its Positive Role Model Program at Aoy Elementary. The program brings 30 fifth graders to the courthouse once a month where they meet positive role models and learn about various careers in law.

I started a second program with Burleson Elementary about 6 years ago. I love the first session when they meet the staff of the court and try out my chair.
