Act 76 (H.217) webinar recording and supporting materials are now available!

In the webinars, members of the CDD team reviewed the major elements of Act 76, the law recently passed by the Vermont legislature that includes significant investments and policy changes related to child care and early childhood education. The focus of the webinars was helping leaders of child care programs to know what changes to expect and when to expect them.

**Weather Update**
The STep Ahead Recognition System (STARS) Rules Public Hearings scheduled for today at CCV in White River Junction will now be held online only. Public hearing sessions scheduled for 1pm and 6:30pm are available via webinar.

At each session, CDD will present and collect comments related on the proposed STARS Administrative Rule, the language that governs the system in statute (law). Read the rules and register for a session at https://dcf.vermont.gov/cdd/laws-rules/proposed

The Child Care Financial Assistance Program (CCFAP) income guidelines will move from the 2022 Federal Poverty Level (FPL) to the 2023 Federal Poverty Level, effective February 26, 2023.

Request For Proposals (RFP): Autism Consultation Team

The Child Development Division (CDD) is seeking to enter into a contract or contracts with one or more vendors to recruit and manage a highly trained interdisciplinary consultation team(s) to do the following:

a. Work in partnership with Vermont’s eleven (11) regional Children’s Integrated Services (CIS) Early Intervention (EI) Teams to provide ongoing Autism consultation, pre-diagnosis support, technical assistance, and coaching;

b. Work with individual child service teams as identified by the region to develop and implement strategic approaches to best support their ongoing progress with their developmental goals; and

c. Assist the CIS State Team to help transition these services into a billable Consultation and Support Service Model to support children suspected of having Autism and/or diagnosed with Autism and their families across Vermont.

We Are Hiring!

The Child Development Division (CDD) is looking for a skilled professional to lead the Division in strategic planning, integrated policy development, accountability, continuous quality improvement, and effective internal and external communication across all units, programs, processes, and services of the Division. This position is responsible for overseeing the Child Care Licensing, Children's Integrated Services, Head Start Collaboration Office, Statewide Systems, and Policy and Process Administration units. This position acts as the Chief of Staff to the CDD Deputy Commissioner and collaborates in key partnerships with other state departments and agencies including the Vermont Department of Health, the Agency of Education, and the Department of Mental Health. Develops and leads communication and public relation strategies and activities designed to enhance public understanding of child development programs and services. Responsibility for preparing or reviewing written and oral reports and assessing actual or potential impact of Division services, policies and procedures and recommends changes or improvements when needed. Leadership and management experience preferred.
