Members of the department spoke to the freshman class at Frederick Douglas HS for public safety week. We talked about different careers within UKPD, had a drone demonstration and showed how our explosive K9 works. Thanks for having us!

Last week we celebrated National Health Care Security & Safety Week! We enjoyed grilling out at each hospital and each security officer received a department 50th anniversary badge along with a new UKPD health care security sweatshirt.

Following two separate natural hazard events, including the flooding in eastern Kentucky and tornadoes in western Kentucky, UK is working to reduce the risk to human life and property from natural hazards through its updated FEMA-approved Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Last week we hosted our first “Cookies with the Rookies” event! Some newer officers went to visit University of Kentucky Cheerleading with cookies at practice and talked about different programs we offer and how they can get involved on campus with us.
