Is it common place for Commissioner Garcia's office to not take phone calls from his constituents and also delete their fb posts complaining about it?
Is it common practice for Commissioner Garcia's office to both not take phone calls from his constituents and also delete their fb posts asking why that is the case?
I live in Harris County Precinct 2 and I called your office this morning to ask a question and I have been put on hold for over 10 minutes because the operator who answered my call didn't like my question.
This is NOT how your office should be dealing with questions from your constituents. I have never called your office before today. Why can't I get someone to answer a simple question?
Thank you for all you do for us.
trying to report a traffic light that is out at Woodforest Blvd at Freeport Street. The new system to call in is under construction apparently.
Someone needs to look into cleaning the ditch on the East side of John Martin, South of I-10 before we have another rain event. It is filled with dead weeds and trash.

What is the latest news on "Phase 2 of the Atascocita Hike & Bike Trail"? When can we expect to see some construction work?
To: Elected Officials of Harris County, City of Houston and State of Texas
This letter is to inform you that action is needed by all elected officials offices concerning property tax in our county. Since the Harvey flood in 2018 the Appraisal District has been abusing land owners and homeowners in the following manner.
First, they took home values that should have been lowered because of flooding and move value to the land. After a home has flooded no reasonable person would buy a home at the higher value of 2018. This could have only been done by someone in Harris County and or the City officials having a meeting and attempting to stop the loss of revenue to the taxing departments.
Secondly, the County Appraisal District has started to use the” Best Use Value” again. At one time this had been against State appraisal rules. If best Use Values are to be used then why are not all Timber and Agriculture exemptions being removed? All taxpayers should have the same standing. This Best Use statement was made at more than one formal hearing.
Your offices have promised to do something about the abuse from County Appraisal District and the continuation of increasing property tax. As the election comes nearer what are you going to do about all of this?
COVID 19 has caused the loss of jobs and will cause property tax foreclosures to increase. On top of that we have County Appraisal Districts taking advantage of the taxpayers. Are you going to assist the taxpayers or tax office?
It will not take your offices ten minutes online at the HCAD.org to verify these claims.
Example:
2017 Value 2018 Value 2019 Value
(After flood)
Land $20,000 $ 40,000 $ 40,000
House $180,000 $ 80,000 $180,000
$200,000 $120,000 $220,000
After a house floods do you truly believe that values would increase?
Sincerely,
VOTING IS THE RIGHT AROUND WHICH ALL OTHER RIGHTS ARE DEPENDENT.

For years, residents of Pct 2 have been able to visit Sylvan Beach Park during storms just to watch the water. No one ever entered the water during a storm, people understand it's dangerous.
No one has died since I moved into the area and certainly NOT since the beach project was undertaken due to getting in the water while a tropical storm was approaching.
First it was Laura and now TS Beto has given Pct 2 personnel the opportunity to close the park for reasons of "safety".
Beaches in Galveston County are closed because they are covered with high tides.
Citizens aren't so stupid as you think they are. We know not to take steps that would endanger ourselves.
Unlock the gates and let people just go and look at the water, since that's all they'll do.
I remember a while back that ya'll "cleaned up" the Sheldon Road underpass. Can ya'll now go west to Freeport Street and do the same? There is so much stuff on the center divider that it could become a traffic hazard.
