We’d like to thank everyone who made this year’s WinterWalk a success. We had a wonderful turnout, an amazing night of fun, and celebrated what’s turned into a lasting Valatie tradition.

Our local shops did a wonderful job with the night’s festivities, and many thanks go out to all who contributed to the evening’s success. It was a night to remember.

We’d also like to personally thank Golden Harvest Farms, Mario's Home Center, Samascott Orchards and Electric Blue DJ service for their enormous contributions.

Congratulations to the Valatie WinterWalk Ugly Sweater Contest winners!!

Angela took 1st place and won $330 in local gift cards with her full Christmas tree, ugly sweater and Christmas present boots!

This cute family got 2nd place and won $225 in gift cards!

And finally, Brittany won 3rd place and received $145 in gift cards for her “ugly” outfit complete with light up headpiece!

That’s a lot of prizes!!! Be sure to wear your ugliest get up to the winter walk next year for your chance to win!

The Valatie WinterWalk and Parade is just three days away, this Saturday, December 13th. The parade steps off at 5:00PM sharp, followed by our amazing winter walk and holiday tree lighting.

We have lots for kids to do this year at the Valatie WinterWalk. Our Valatie senior center will feature cookie decorating and face painting. While you’re there, grab a cup of hot chocolate and cider donuts courtesy of Golden Harvest Farms.

🎄✨ The Valatie WinterWalk and Winter Parade is Saturday, 12/13/25. Here is the latest event schedule: ✨🎄

2:00PM - 'Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus' at the Valatie Community Theatre - $15.00 admission

4:00PM - 🎅 Santa Claus will be meeting children at the Martin H. Glynn Municipal Building, thanks to the Valatie Santa Claus Club, and will continue until approximately 6:30PM 🎅

5:00PM - 🎉 The WinterWalk and Winter Parade officially starts on Main Street, hosted by the Electric Blue DJ service service 🎉

7:30PM - 🎄 Annual tree lighting ceremony at the Joan Archer Pavilion on Main Street, hosted by the Electric Blue DJ service. Ugly Sweater Award winners will be announced. 🎄

🎅🏻 Attractions throughout the WinterWalk evening include: 🎅🏻

🍬 Our annual ugly sweater contest! Wear your ugly sweater to the WinterWalk and stop in LDTK Home Decor & Gifts Co. on Main Street to enter! Winners and prizes announced that night at the tree lighting ceremony! 🍬

🍬 New this year is Santa's Kitchen, featuring kettle corn, hot dogs and food trucks

🍬 Shop great craft vendors and Main Street’s wonderful local retailers

🍬 Enjoy face painting, cookie decorating, hot chocolate, and Golden Harvest Farms cider donuts at the Valatie Senior Center

🍬 Challenges await during the third annual kids scavenger hunt, all through the village, where your children can collect some great treats!

🍬 Hop onto the hayride, to take you all around our wonderful village.

🍬 Face painting, an open mic, cider and cider donuts, and a free snowflake kid's craft at the Valatie Community Theatre

🍬 Ichabod Crane School art show at the Unity Lodge

🍬 The Valatie Free Library will have gluten free snacks, and provide a quiet area for those wishing a stop with less sensory stimulation.

When? Join us for a very special winter preparedness seminar on Saturday, February 1st from 10:00am to noon.

Where? 3211 Church St, Valatie, NY (The gym at the old Martin H. Glynn Elementary School building).

Who should come? Anybody in northern Columbia County and southern Rensselaer County. Renters and homeowners alike will benefit. Young and old.

What's going on? We'll have guest speakers with the best tips and tricks to help you save money on your home heating, including DIY things that you can do yourself. We'll have FREE small winterizing kits, FREE donuts and cider, demonstrations and vendors.

Who will be there? The Columbia County Office for the Aging will be on hand to help seniors get the help they need. We're working hard to get representatives from the utility companies. We'll have experts from the Columbia Opportunities Weatherization program, the Capital Region Clean Energy Hub, Heat Smart Capital Region, and heat pump installers. Everyone you need to get your home heating bills under control.

If you can't find a babysitter, we've got you covered. We'll have a kids corner available to keep your little ones busy while you learn.

This is a great opportunity to help you save money, in ways that will benefit you for years to come.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who participated in this year’s Valatie WinterWalk!!! Despite the colder than usual temperatures, we had a huge crowd for this year’s parade, and our local businesses stayed jam packed throughout the night.

The Village of Valatie would like to personally thank all of the local shops who helped to put on Saturday night’s festivities, and those who donated their time and resources to bringing joy to so many people.
