We would like to thank everyone who helped us to make Stuff the Bus such a wonderful event this year. Because of all of the help, many school-aged children were able to return to school prepared to learn! Without volunteers, we could not make this happen.

If you are interested in volunteering for The Salvation Army Porter County Corps Community Center, please stop in and pick up a volunteer application packet. We always need volunteers to assist us in serving this wonderful community.

Matthew 25:35-40 New International Version (NIV)

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

What a great time today at the first annual Taste of Care "Breakfast with the Bunny" event. The attendees all had a great time and money was raised to help The Salvation Army of Porter County meet the nutritional needs of individuals and families who are struggling to provide food for their household. Thanks so much to Prompt Ambulance for their tremendous support . Also thanks to Wendy's for all the delicious beverages and smiling staff. Thanks to Indiana Beverage/Costal Water for the bottles of water they provided to the event. Thanks to all of the local businesses that provided financial support. If I tried to list all of them, I am certain that I would miss someone. Please know that we appreciate your generous support so much. Thanks to the musicians and characters who entertained us all. Thank you to the volunteers that made this event possible. Thanks to the great chefs who prepared such lovely food. Thank you to the amazing AmeriCorps volunteers who spent the entire week before the event working at the office to prepare for the event and who helped so much today too. And thank you to all of the community members who came our and supported this cause. Together, we can make a difference. We can wipe out hunger in Porter County. God bless all of you.

very sad to see the lord our saviour doesn't like Hells Angels helping you people out.... so much for not judging lest thee be judged
DISAPPOINTED IN THE SALVATION ARMY. I was raised and have been Lead to believe that the Salvation Army is there To HELP Man-Kind, To HELP the Fallen, To HELP the weary, To Help a Family or person in need, To HELP the downtrodden. That it is NOT an Organization who falls to Stereotypes or discriminates against our fellow Humans No Matter the Color, The Race, The Creed, The Religion or Organization. The Salvation Army allows Men and Women who are doing Community Service because of Bad Life Decisions to pay off their Time by ringing the Bells of Holiday Hope and or allows them to Sign up to work at one of their Building Locations. I was always lead to believe they Needed Help and Needed Volunteers No Matter who you were because Love for Man Kind is Stronger than any other thing we as Humans can possess. Im Gravely Disappointed and Mistaken that the Salvation Army has changed that and now discriminates against a Group of Men who have ask to stand in the Cold and Humble themselves to show Yes we are Men ,Yes We Have Family's ,Yes We May Live Different or Have different beliefs BUT! Yes We can Stand For Humanity and Ring the Bell of Love and Hope while asking the public to come forward and show Love. These Men have ask for just a couple days and a few hours to Stand Up as Americans and say We Want to Help. Isnt that what the Salvation Army is about? It should make No difference If a person is wearing a Nike Coat ,An Adidas Coat, An Over-Coat, A Suit and Tie, A Firemen’s Uniform, A Policemen’s Uniform, If he or she has bad body Hygiene , Is A member of the NCAA , Is member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles ,The Black Panther Party ,The Samaritans Purse ,A Car Club or A Motorcycle Club. I was lead to believe Through the Salvation Army We Can all come together and say We Care and We want to Help, We want to Give a Little piece of our Time and Life Back But I have been proven wrong and This Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas Holiday has Proven to be a Very Sorry Time in Valparaiso Indiana as well as America. I am Very Saddened the Salvation Army has now found a group to Discriminate and Has told them “We Don’t Need You ,Your Help or Your Time.” This is a Very Sad time in America. Nathan Goodfellow Proud Citizen Of The USA ,Valparaiso Indiana
Where can I find information about Bell Ringing? I have a couple of service groups that would like to help this year? Thanks!
