Remember when our community helped raise funds to feed senior citizens with a new walk-in refrigerator for VNA of NWI Meals on Wheels? Look at this gorgeous result! ❤ Thanks to your generosity, 300+ seniors in our community will continue to have daily nutritious meals.

As Pines Village celebrates its 38th year of operation, we cannot help but reflect on how many great friends we've made over the years. Too many to name... but here is a recent example of our amazing community in Valpo... Pines Village is honored to be the meal provider for VNA of NWI's Meals on Wheels program. Demand for the program has grown exponentially over the years. In order to meet the demand, we needed an additional walk-in cooler. This is where our great friends including Don Quijote Restaurante and Imports and United Way of Porter County worked to raise funds for the walk-in cooler. Local artist Doris Myers donated a beautiful painting to us, which we chose to wrap the cooler. Aran Kessler Photo Imaging photographed Doris's painting for us, and the team at Digital Graphic Solutions LLC created and installed the wrap. Job well done, everyone! Now we can continue serving the aging community. We are grateful for all the great paths that have been crossed, residents served, friendships built, projects completed. Onward and upward for the next 38! 🎉

“We’ve seen too many cases of it in the past year: someone has lost their job, or their spouse has had their hours cut drastically due to the pandemic. Nobody should lose their homes because of this virus,” said Kim Olesker, President and CEO. #liveunited #communitynonprofit #covidrelief #community

With the COVID-19 pandemic creating more hardship for families and individuals, organizations like United Way of Porter County have helped to educate people on their options. One option is the Hardest Hit Fund, a government program created in 2007 to help people pay their mortgages and has helped families in Porter County prevent foreclosure on their homes during COVID-19.
