The Valparaiso ID Card Center serves Soldiers and dependant family members. This office updates records, processes ID Cards and provides benefit information for all branches of service and their dependant family members.

Mission: The mission of th Valparaiso ID Card Center is to provide ID card services to all branches of the military. We will also provide comprehensive customer service for our Soldiers and their dependent Families.

The Department of Defense is now beginning to address the question of extension of benefits and issuance of ID cards to same-sex domestic partners of Military Service members, which commenced with the release of Secretary Panetta's Memorandum dated 11 February 2013, Subject: Extending Benefits to Same-Sex Domestic Partners of Military Members. The Memorandum directs the Military Services to make every effort to ensure that eligible same-sex domestic partners and their families receive these benefits by 31 August 2013, but in no case after 1 October 2013.

Implementation of these benefit changes will require substantial policy revision, training, and in the case of identification cards, possible upgrades to DEERS/RAPIDS. DMDC will notify SSM/VOs prior to the issuance of any DoD ID card conveying benefits to same-sex domestic partners. If you have any questions regarding the policies for same-sex domestic partners, please contact your Service Project Officer.
