Attention Scouts, Scouters and Parents!

Open to all Scouts in all areas!!!

Don't forget!!! The Balboa Oaks District Merit Badge Midway is this Saturday March 5, 2016, at the LDS Church, 17101 Plumber Street, Northridge, CA 91325 (at the corner of Plummer St. and Amestoy Ave.).

The time for preregistration has past, but there is some seating still available in select classes (see list below). The open seats will be offered on a first come basis on Saturday beginning at 8 AM. Come sign up even if you haven't done the prerequisite work. You can start the badge to earn partial credit and complete the remaining requirements at a future date. As always there is no charge for Scouts to attend. We will have a Snackoree available to serve breakfast items, lunch, snacks and drinks, all day. The Midway is open to all Boy Scouts no matter what District or Council you may belong.

Scouts who are not First Class Rank can attend our Pathway (formerly Trail to First Class) to pass off some rank requirements. If you are an Adult Leader and wish to help teach Pathway/Trail to First Class contact Ralph Ward with your qualifications at [email protected]

Session 1 @ 9AM = Scuba Diving (8); Truck Transportation (open)

Session 1A @ 9AM = First Aid (1); Pioneering (open)

Session 2 @ 10:45 AM = Scuba Diving (8); Truck Transportation (open)

Session 3 @ 1PM= Camping (21); Music/Bugling (1); Scuba Diving (8); Truck Transportation (open)

Session 3A @ 1PM= First Aid (3); Law (12); Game Design (2);

Session 4 @2:45PM= Scuba Diving (8); Sustainability (10); Truck Transportation (open)

ADDITIONALLY, Merit Badge by Appointment (with the Sulsona's) still has seating available at various times through the day. Check out the 26 badges plus Nova & Super Nova listed on the schedule. Contact the Sulsona's for an appointment time - NOW!

Leo Carrillo camp out was fun!

We are having a camp out tomorrow, we will meet at church at 5:00 pm, please bring your assignments, wear class A uniform to travel to camp, bring also extra clothes and swimming trunks if you plan on getting in the ocean, you will need to bring the permission slips and forms. the links are below.

Celebrating with the boys their achievements at camp!

Parents you should feel so proud of your boys, they did great. They were the best troop on camp and gave a great example of LDS standards and it was recognized by the camp staff and parents, plus they achieved First Aid and Swimming Merit Badges in addition to 90% of all requirements for Tenderfoot, 2nd Class and 1st Class Ranks. You are raising fine young men. Thank you to all of you that are behind your kids progress!
