As we reflect on May and Foster Care Awareness Month, we are reminded that none of this work happens alone. Every request filled, every caregiver encouraged, every child supported, and every moment of “Heart Work” has been made possible because of a community that continues to show up in big and small ways. Thank you for believing in this mission and helping remove tangible barriers so families can focus on connection, safety, and healing.

- Filled 275 caregiver requests across Southwest Washington

-Served families in 5 counties throughout our region

-Hosted 9 community events serving hundreds of children and caregivers, and so much more!

And beyond the numbers, these words from our community remind us why this matters:
“Cloth+Foster has made a difference for me as a caregiver; it’s so much more than just having clothes available for the kiddos.”

“They’re always willing to do the hard heart work, to show up for kiddos and families.”

Thank you for being part of the Heart Work in action. We truly could not do this without you.

Every donation helps us show up for children and families experiencing foster care in practical ways.

$5 helps support local foster families
$10 packs toiletries for a youth
$25 fills a bag for an infant
$50 sends a week’s worth of clothes for a kiddo
$100 helps provide essentials for a child entering care

Your support helps remove barriers so caregivers can focus on loving and caring for kids well.

Thank you for continuing to show up for this community alongside us.

Students from the AVID program at Skyview High School organized a donation drive for Cloth+Foster and then came out to personally deliver everything they collected.

From the hand painted donation boxes to loading cars and unloading supplies, we were really impressed by these students effort.

We loved getting to show them around the barn, share more about the Heart Work and let them see how community donations directly support children and families experiencing foster care.

Really grateful for this group and the heart they brought with them. 🧡

Still smiling from Saturday. ❤️

Our Caregiver Appreciation Event was such a meaningful morning, and it would not have happened without the incredible people behind the scenes.

To our Board Members and Volunteers — thank you for showing up, serving, setting up, cleaning up, donating, organizing, cheering caregivers on during bingo, and helping create a space where foster and kinship families felt seen, valued, and celebrated.

147 people gathered together because of the heart work you continue to pour into this community. From breakfast and bingo to prizes, laughter, and connection.

Cloth+Foster has always been built by community, and this event was another reminder that when people come together with willing hands and open hearts, really beautiful things happen.

Thank you for helping us love our caregiver community well

Connection takes time.
Trust isn’t automatic.

Kids coming into foster care aren’t starting from zero. They’re starting from everything they’ve already lived through. Loss, confusion, broken trust, big feelings they don’t have words for yet.

So when they don’t attach right away…
when they push back…
when they test every boundary…

It’s protection.

They’re asking, without saying it out loud,
are you still here if I’m hard?
are you safe if I don’t trust you yet?

And the answer is shown over time: In the showing up,In the consistency, In the staying.

This is the heart work.
Not instant.
Not easy.
But worth it.

When caregivers are supported with the tangible things they need, they have more space to do exactly that. To stay. To show up. To build something within these kids that lasts.

That’s where we come in, because every child deserves the time it takes to feel safe.

Heart work hallelujah.
Everything hallelujah.

When their needs are met… 👈

even something as simple as a coat or a pair of shoes,
it creates space for something bigger.

Thank you to our volunteer Pam Morlan for bringing her HP friends to work with us today as part of their WE DAY!
With their helpful hands we sorted through 40 bags of donations, put away a cart of clean laundry and prepped hygiene bags.

We couldn’t do this work alone.

So much of what fills our racks comes from generous community partners like Denim & Frills who help make sure kids and teens in foster care have access to clothing that feels good, fits well, and reflects who they are.

having these resources readily available means caregivers can say yes with confidence knowing they’ll have what they need to support the kids in their care.

If you’ve got gently used items your kids have outgrown, we would love to put them to good use.
