✨👏Still reelin from the good vibes of the Free Swap on April 19th! Free and direct access clothing, household supplies, and more. Leftover clothing items were donated to and Stone Soup and will be shared with our houseless neighbors. All remaining clothing and household items were donated to a local community church for their upcoming free swap event!

✨Treasures were found and real needs were met. Smiles on children's faces as they found fresh looks and parents leaving with bags full of clothing items for themselves and their families. Blankets, toys, plants, accessories, shoes, appliances, tools, mobility aids, decor, books and more all finding new homes. Folks coming in from the neighborhood and finding community and conversation while discovering gems in the mix. It was an incredible afternoon!

‼️There is so much production in the world, capitalism, consumerism and industry waste are destroying our planet. Divesting from mega-corporations and investing in community networks of mutual aid is needed.

✨Mutual Aid is reciprocity, it's sharing caring and supporting each, intentional communication, planning and partnership while real needs are being met. We look forward to future opportunities and collaborations with local organizations and people doing the work to build support systems in which we can all find security and empowerment.

It's a beautiful day for a Community Free Swap! Join us from 2:30-5:30 TODAY April 19th at Fourth Plain Community Commons! Parking is available on Norris Street (south of the Fire Department) or at Jim Tangeman School. The parking lot at the school has a gate that leads you right to the event!

Donations are accepted today on a space-available basis. Donations may be cut off later in the day or if we get flooded. Donations are NOT needed to participate in the event and everything is 100% free! Light refreshments will also be provided!

WHEN WE FIGHT WE WIN

History is full of people who just did their jobs and never asked what they were a part of. Today a community in Moreno Valley, CA changed that — and together they shut it down.

Customs & Border Protection — the same agency that killed Alex Pretti — had a recruitment event booked at a local venue in Moreno Valley. A room reserved, people signed up. Just another bureaucratic process humming along. Cogs turning. Nobody asking questions.

Until the local DSA chapter caught it —and quietly got local groups involved first.

The moment it went public, everything hit at once. Calls and emails flooded in. The mayor and city council were tagged across social media. The press came knocking for a statement. Plans for a protest started taking shape. And suddenly the people who casually signed off on this had to look at what they'd actually let in — family separation, neighborhood raids, and communities living in fear.

AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE — it fell apart and the hiring event was canceled. CBP was also removed from a future job fair!

They didn't do that on their own. We pushed. We showed up. This is what power looks like when people use it.

ICE and CBP are quietly booking venues nationwide, counting on silence and compliance.
Moreno Valley noticed. Moreno Valley pushed back. Moreno Valley won.
