California Islands Symposium The symposia have been held approximately every five years since 1965, and record recent island work in all disciplines of natural and cultural science.

The California Islands Symposia are important gatherings for scientists, resource managers, educators and land managers to present recent findings in science, management and conservation of California's islands. The California Islands Symposia are a series of irregular meetings convened to present recent findings in science and management on California's islands including all of the islets, rocks and islands off California and Baja California, Mexico.
