Uintah County is pleased to welcome Nathan Rawlings as our new County Attorney.

Nathan comes into this role with a clear commitment: to serve the people of Uintah County, support our law enforcement partners, and help preserve the safe, strong community we are proud to call home.

Uintah County's quality of life is built by good people—families, business owners, workers, volunteers, and neighbors who contribute every day to making this county a great place to live. Those who respect the law and the rights of others deserve a community where they can live, work, and raise their families in safety and peace.

Nathan is committed to standing alongside law enforcement to protect our communities and ensure that those who choose to victimize others, threaten public safety, or infringe upon the rights of our residents are held accountable under the law.
He believes public service means being accessible, responsive, and willing to go the extra mile for the community he serves. As County Attorney, Nathan looks forward to listening to residents, addressing concerns, and working tirelessly on behalf of the people of Uintah County.

In the coming weeks, we will be hosting a community meet-and-greet where residents will have the opportunity to meet Attorney Rawlings, ask questions, share concerns, and learn more about the work of the County Attorney's Office.

🎊Please join us in welcoming Nathan Rawlings as Uintah County's newest County Attorney.

Thank you for showing up! The citizens of Uintah County have always demonstrated a remarkable civic spirit, and this week’s Commissioners, Doughnuts, and Discussion was a genuinely active conversation. Those who attended brought up concerns, questions, and facts.

Two major topics of discussion were brought up: data centers and council vs. commission. Starting Monday, our County 101 will guide the residents of Uintah County on how to get informed and involved. Stay tuned.

Regarding Council vs. Commission forms of county government; we are really glad you have a desire to learn about the different forms and why one form might align better with your values and vision for our community. We recognize and appreciate not everyone will have the same point of view. We want to honor what the majority of Uintah County residents want. We also want everyone to be well informed before making that decision.

Currently, there is a significant amount of misinformation circulating regarding the process by which a county may change its form of government. The process is not simple, nor is it quick — it is a carefully defined legal process established by the Utah State Legislature to ensure that any change is deliberate, transparent, and ultimately decided by the voters of Uintah County.

The Uintah County Commission is fully committed to follow Utah Code Title 17, Chapter 62, lawfully and transparently, in the order and manner prescribed by state statute — no more, and no less.
That tradition of active participation is something to be genuinely admired. It is precisely because of that spirit that our processes must be done right: with full information, full transparency, and full respect for every voice in our county.
