Conservation planning is the foundation of everything we do. We are committed to working with you to take a whole-farm approach to ensure resource concerns —soil, water, and overall natural vitality — are addressed together rather than in isolation. This includes streamlining applications, improving technology, and cutting red tape to help you help the land.

🥜 Happy National Peanut Butter Day! 🥜

Did you know Alabama is one of the top peanut-producing states in the nation? Peanut farmers work hard to grow a crop that’s packed with protein, loved by families and essential to our state’s agricultural economy.

Grab a spoonful or a sandwich and help us celebrate one of Alabama’s most important crops on National Peanut Butter Day!🤎

For International Environmental Education Day, we’re here with a reminder that the first step of your conservation journey is to build a plan. Whole-farm planning remains the centerpiece of our approach, ensuring that all resource concerns like soil, water, and overall natural vitality are addressed together rather than in isolation.

The Alabama Farm Center moved one step closer to groundbreaking in late December, when the project received a $11 million grant from the federal Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization (AMLER) Program!👏

The funding will reclaim and restore abandoned mine land features at Hallmark Farms in Warrior in Jefferson County, helping transform the property into a state-of-the-art agricultural exhibition center that will boost education, tourism and economic growth across the region.

The Alabama Farm Center will feature facilities for livestock shows, rodeos, educational programs and an annual state fair. It will also generate an estimated $2.2 billion in direct economic impact over 20 years and create up to 850 jobs.

Alabama Department of Workforce Secretary Greg Reed said the grant is a shining example of cooperation and strategic partnerships between business and state and federal government.❤️
