Four of our own from Indian River County Fire Rescue traded bunker gear for tri gear this month and took on the ultimate test of endurance — the Ironman 70.3 in Panama City! 🏊🚴🏃

From the swim to the bike to the final miles of the run, these guys showed the same determination, grit, and heart that they bring to the job every single day. Completing an Ironman 70.3 is no small feat, and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishment.

Their commitment to fitness, mental toughness, and pushing beyond limits is truly inspiring. Whether serving the community or crossing the finish line, they continue to represent IRCFR with pride.
Please help us congratulate these incredible athletes on an amazing achievement!

Way to go Kyle Holtzclaw, Tyler Weaver, Julian Figueroa, & James Holbrook (and Holbrook's wife)!

When the repair calls for a “compact technician”… you call Bryant. 🚒🔧😂

The mission: squeeze into the engine compartment of one of our pumpers and get the job done. Thankfully, Bryant was the only one who could fit in there!

Behind every ready apparatus is a Fleet team willing to climb, crawl, twist, and somehow disappear into places no human was meant to fit. We appreciate everything our Fleet Division does to keep IRCFR response-ready 24/7.🔥

This morning, we had the pleasure of hosting our Indian River County Fire Rescue Retiree Breakfast.... a time filled with laughter, stories, and plenty of reminiscing.

From unforgettable calls to stationhouse memories, it was a great reminder that once you’re part of the IRCFR family, you’re always family.

Thank you to our retirees for the years of dedication, service, and the foundation you helped build for those who continue the mission today. And yes… some of those stories may have gotten slightly better with time. 🚒☕

💙 Our Crews Go Blue for Child Abuse Prevention!

We are proud to partner with Communities Connected for Kids (CCKids) to support the MANicure Movement this April!

CCKids stopped by a couple of our stations and our crews joined the movement by painting one fingernail blue to represent the children who experience abuse before they turn 18.

We encourage everyone men and women alike to join the movement. This is a way to to help spark conversations about protecting children and supporting safe, stable homes.

This past Saturday, Indian River County Fire Rescue proudly participated in The Vero Beach Yacht Clubs Blessing of the Fleet for our newest addition, Marine 21, along with many other vessels.

We were especially honored to have retired Lt. Blades Robinson join us for this meaningful occasion. His words truly captured the spirit of the day:

"I was honored to attend the Blessing of the Fleet this morning, and I truly appreciate the opportunity. The Marine 21 crew represented IRCFR with respect and professionalism and the new vessel is truly remarkable. As you’re aware, skilled personnel, well-trained, and equipped with the right tools lead to successful outcomes. From my experience today, I believe the department achieved the perfect combination: a capable vessel and a crew eager to learn and excel. Congratulations to you and your administration for acquiring such a capable craft and having it manned by dedicated individuals."

Marine 21 represents more than just a new vessel, it’s a commitment to safety, service, and excellence on the water. We’re proud of the dedicated crew who will serve our community with professionalism and pride.
