On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, deputies from the Victorville Station conducted an investigation into the illegal possession of fi****ms and ammunition by a convicted felon.

The investigation led to the service of a search warrant for a residence in the 16000 block of Washoan Road in Apple Valley. At approximately 7:01 p.m., deputies, with the assistance of the Victorville City Gang Impact Team (VCGIT), safely served the search warrant.

During the search, deputies recovered two fi****ms and several boxes of ammunition. The fi****ms included a black Walther P380 with an obliterated identification number, and a .44-caliber revolver.

Jaime Guzman Martinez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for, P.C. 29800(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and P.C. 30305(A)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition, P. C. 23900 – Alter, Deface, or Change a Fi****ms Identification Number.

On August 22, 2026, the Victorville Station conducted a street racing operation from approximately 4:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. The operation was aimed at addressing unsafe driving and traffic violations throughout the city of Victorville.

During the four-hour enforcement operation, deputies conducted 35 traffic stops, resulting in one DUI arrest, four speeding citations, and 24 citations for other traffic violations. The enforcement operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to address dangerous driving behaviors and promote roadway safety throughout the Victorville community.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
