KT’s Whitetail Tracking Service

Good luck to all the hunters during this cold front! We are here if you need us. This rain we’ve gotten will help hold scent for the tracking dogs. I hope you don’t need us but we are here if you do. Just remember when in doubt back out and call in the hounds.

Jax is ready to go almost at a moments notice. He’s learned his job and anxious to get out there. He’s learned what the tracking kennel means and goes right in when he sees it in my hand.

My phone is on 24/7. If it goes to voicemail send a text. I get so many spam calls I had to change the settings on my incoming calls.

I do stay in touch with a well known tracker that has tracked for me, got me into tracking, and still teaches me to this day.

I just want to let everyone that these hot dry conditions are making it hard on these tracking dogs. The scent dries up pretty quickly.

Make that call sooner than later when needing a dog.

We try so hard but we can’t win them all. For those wondering I went back this morning to look for the wounded doe. She had doubled back, made all kinds of turns and made it a real hard time. I ended up losing blood, I then got Jax and started him at the point of loss. He took us through the woods, to a field, back into the woods, and then eventually off the property entirely. I had to pull him off and just determine that deer is likely alive. I never found the first sign after the pol. This is so unfortunate and we hate leaving the woods that way but the dog did all he could do. It was the young man’s first shot at a deer, I couldn’t see the hit to determine fatality. Jax didn’t track like it was fatal. At the end of the day we did all we could do, and at least the young man still took one to HQ Meats LLC for processing!

Congratulations to this young man on his first deer! 🦌 He doubled up but we only found the buck tonight. It’s so dry and we got turned around so many times on the doe that I’m going back in the daylight to look for her.

I know most of us do not carry cash these days, we do accept Cash App and Venmo out in the field.

Good luck to all the kiddos this weekend and please keep us in mind if you need a child’s deer tracked, it does not matter what the harvested deer is, we will track anything!
