On Saturday, June 21st, IPFD conducted a Home Safety Visit Blitz to install smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors on Catalpa Avenue! We installed 35 smoke detectors, 7 carbon monoxide detectors and 9 natural gas/carbon monoxide detectors. Our success included finding a home that didn't have any smoke detectors and homes with smoke detectors as old as 1994!

Thank you to the Department of Homeland Security FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency Fire Prevention & Safety grant for providing the funding for this and future Blitz events. A special thanks to Itasca Professional Firefighters Association Local #3461 for their commitment to this important initiative. Thanks to Village of Itasca Public Works for the use of their electronic sign.

If you are an Itasca resident and would like to schedule a Home Safety Visit, please call 630-773-1223 x 301 or email [email protected].
