❕UPDATE - Dumpsters have been delivered❕

❗️❗️Flood Cleanup Dumpster Update❗️❗️

Meade County Emergency Management is working with the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management to provide dumpsters at no cost for residents impacted by the recent flooding.

The dumpsters are expected to be delivered on Thursday, July 2, to the locations listed below.

Once the dumpsters have been delivered and are ready for use, we will post another update on our page to let everyone know they are available.

Thank you for your patience as these resources are being coordinated for our community.

Meade County Solid Waste & Recycle offers Quarterly FREE Dump Days for Meade County residents.

📅 2026 Free Dump Day Dates:

March 5, 6 & 7, 2026

June 4, 5 & 6, 2026

September 3, 4 & 5, 2026

December 3, 4 & 5, 2026

✔️ Who can participate:
Free Dump Days are limited to Meade County residents only. Businesses are not permitted. Residents must provide proof of address, such as a state-issued ID or a utility bill showing a Meade County address.

✔️ What is accepted:
Free Dump Days are for regular household garbage and debris, including household furniture.

❌ What is NOT accepted:

Residential construction debris (shingles, wood, drywall, insulation, bathtubs/jacuzzi tubs, etc.)

♻️ Reminder: Before heading to the landfill, residents are encouraged to recycle as much as possible. Recycling helps reduce waste, saves space, and keeps Meade County cleaner for everyone.

🚑 Did You Know?

Meade County EMS doesn’t stop when the weather turns bad.

While EMS normally operates three ambulances around the clock, an additional fourth ambulance is placed in service during inclement weather to make sure help is always available when it’s needed most.

During this weekend’s snowstorm, EMS crews responded to motor vehicle accidents, traumatic injuries, and medical emergencies — all while facing dangerous road conditions themselves.

When others are sheltering from the storm, these crews are answering the call. No matter the weather, Meade County EMS is there for the citizens of this county when seconds matter most.

❄️ Did You Know?

Meade County has 8 snow plow trucks ready to go when winter weather hits.

When it snows, our Road Department follows 7 snow routes to make sure no county road is missed. Each route has a dedicated plow truck, with one additional truck on standby in case of breakdowns.

Those routes cover 315 miles of county roads and are plowed from start to finish, usually taking about 8 to 10 hours to complete, depending on conditions.

During plow operations, crews plow any paved road with over 1 inch of snow (gravel roads excluded). A salt and sand mixture is used on curves, intersections, and hills to improve safety.

🚧 Safety reminder: Snow plow trucks are 10 feet wide. When you see one on the road, please use caution and give our plow drivers plenty of room — for their safety and yours.
