A great joining of forces!

We are proud to offer PWR! And Urban Poling classes here at Empowerment! Wellness!

Want to learn more? Message us for more information!

Urban Poling and Parkinson's Wellness Recovery (PWR!) are proud to announce a collaboration to support those living with Parkinson's disease by improving their everyday mobility through dynamic exercise programs.

Both Urban Poling and PWR! love poles, and for good reason! Considerable evidence-based research shows that walking with poles improves patients' outcomes with respect to improved leg stride, supports a more natural gait pattern and reduces shuffling in Parkinson's clients. We couldn't be more excited about the combined positive impact our Urban and Activator® Poles and PWR!’s exercise therapy programs will have on the lives of so many people with Parkinson's. As the two organizations join forces, we can’t wait to see how we can improve everyday mobility for people with PD and their families.

We're looking forward to making great strides together and keeping you active and walking farther - one step at a time with our poles to help you along the way!

People with Parkinson’s— we need you!

We are trying to figure out why some of you progress quickly and others not at all. When everyone pitches in, these answers become apparent. Anyone with any form of parkinsonism is invited, but we REALLY need greater representation from minorities & people living in rural areas. Right now, over 80% of our study population is from the US— we’d like more global representation, too.

Happy Earth 🌏 Day! Get outside and breathe some fresh air, feel the grass between your toes, listen to the music 🎶 of the birds singing and take in the beauty around you!

Today is World Parkinson’s day!

Every 9 minutes, someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease!

Please consider joining or donating to our team for our Virtual Walk, to help raise funds for our community!

- Funds raised enable the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) to continue providing local education, information, and support, as well as critical nationwide virtual programs to keep everyone supported and connected while staying safe at home. You will also help fund scientific research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and ultimately the cure.

- The more funds we raise, the more people we can help!

It's MS Awareness Month and we are officially starting our Virtual Facial Fitness class!
You can join us live from the comfort of your home, working out those facial muscles!
For MS Awareness month, we are including a FREE Rollga Facial Kit, to help massage those facial muscles in addition to your workout!

Classes start March 9th! Click below to join in on the fun! Questions, just leave us a message! We look forward to working with you!

We make different facial expressions everyday without even thinking about the muscles used.

We love to put different emojis in our text messages or to post on social media without realizing how important these muscles really are in normal everyday functions!

For someone living with #multiplesclerosis Sclerosis, strengthening these muscles help with speech and swallowing. For
someone living with #parkinsonsdisease disease, it also benefits the masked facial expressions so they can smile, frown and more!

Interested in learning more about how to strengthen these muscles or know someone who would benefit from a class?
Put a 😁 in the comments below to let us know you’re in!

For someone living with Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, or Alzheimers, making certain facial expressions are not as easy as it sounds!

The importance of facial muscles and their actions are often overlooked because normally we don't think about them becoming weak or being a part of something functional! The truth is, they are important! Not only do they help us smile, frown, look angry, sad or surprised, they help with important daily functions like chewing, swallowing, and speech!

When someone has been diagnosed with certain diseases where these muscles are affected, it is especially important to add them into their daily exercise routines.

If you or someone you knows is living with any of these diseases, join us March 9th for our Virtual Facial Fitness Class! Click the link below to sign up!

Our caretakers are one of the most important people in our fighters lives.

Day after day they take on many roles from spouse, friend or child and then add the extra role of advocate, medication manager, morale booster and many more.

Day after day, they tirelessly take care of their loved ones and often forget about taking care of themselves! Today is a day to honor those people, and let them know how much they are appreciated.

Our friends at the PWR! gym have created a list of resources for Care Partners! Check it out!

I LOVE that you are getting your fighters outside! RSB coaches aren't doing much of that, and I believe it's a real loss for our boxers. Hiking uneven terrain is a real world challenge to balance and proprioception, and builds confidence. Fresh air and sunshine...what could be better than that. Social connections, something you can do with your family and friends. I'm so impressed. We are planning Jon's Boxing Grand Tour, and we want to come see you sometime!!
"No one chooses Parkinson’s, but they can choose how to cope with it."
Wendy -- just checking .... class still on for tomorrow, Monday 1/8?
