Air Show friends and fans,
We regret to inform you that the 2020 NAS Oceana Air Show is canceled due to public health risks associated with COVID-19. While there are no plans to reschedule, the Navy is currently exploring the best available options to bring the best of Naval Aviation to fans virtually. Until then, please continue to monitor our page for any updates. We miss you already!
With exception of MWR Golf courses and activities, MWR facilities are currently closed and events remain canceled at this time. Please see our website at NavyLifeMA.com for changes as we begin to reset and reopen for our patrons. During this time MWR continues to offer resources for things to do at home. Important information below.
In the coming days and weeks, it is important to emphasize that NAS Oceana and Dam Neck Annex are required to follow DOD and US Navy COVID-19 health protection protocols. As a result, there will be periods where the installation will not follow the reopening guidance and direction taken by the Commonwealth of Virginia and the City of Virginia Beach. Rather, the installation and its plan for reopening facilities and services (to include the Dam Neck Annex beach for leisure activities) fall under the constraints of Navy policies, orders, and direction which is designed to preserve our Naval forces, combat capability, and to ensure the health and safety of our civilian workforce.
We will continue to update our FB page as conditions and policy change. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we move forward.

‼️ NAS OCEANA COVID-19 UPDATE ‼️
Effective 31 March, the NAS Oceana Commanding Officer has ordered the Dam Neck Annex beach be closed (both day and night) until further notice for leisure activities and use.
Leisure activities are defined as family and group outings, sunbathing, picnics, leisure swimming, kite flying, sporting activities, etc.
Exceptions to this policy include exercise (walking, running, and surfing - not in a group setting) and individual fishing.
This policy will be enforced by Naval Security Forces and NAS Oceana MWR staff.
NAS Oceana remains committed to the health and safety of our Sailors and their families.

Please note new gate entry procedures:
Installations will begin implementing new procedures to scan access cards without the gate sentry physically handling the credential (ID).
Patrons will be asked to present their credential in a manner that the barcode (on the back of the ID) is facing the sentry for electronic verification using the scanner.
This may cause some delays during peak times.
An important message from Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
First and Finest,
For clarification, we are not conducting COVID-19 testing at entrances to the hospital. We are asking the following screening questions to determine the best course of care and reduce the risk of exposure for everyone during this COVID-19 outbreak:
1. Do you have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing?
2. Have you traveled from or through Italy, China, Iran, South Korea or Europe within the past 14 days?
3. Have you been in direct contact with someone who was diagnosed with coronavirus?
If individuals answer yes to these questions, you will be given a mask and directed to the Emergency Room for further evaluation for your safety and the safety of others.
Reminder for all of you: We ask if anyone has any concerns about exposure to COVID-19 AND symptoms of fever, cough or difficulty breathing - IMMEDIATELY call the NMCP COVID-19 Call Center at 757-953-6200 prior to entering NMCP compound and/or entering any NMCP entrance or proceed directly to the Emergency Room.
Thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility. We will continue to provide updates on our social media platforms in regards to COVID-19.
