Day 4, we set sail today with the campers on the American Rover for a tour on the Elizabeth River. I was accused of paying extra for them to see a ship pass us so close, but we actually had two! And, not only the luck of seeing the ships, but they also were able to see a famous face who took some valuable time to introduce himself and shake hands with our campers today. Thank you Bill Crow and Barbara Washer from Virginia Ship Repair Association for sharing your time so impromptu. Thanks to Clayton at Nauticus for the informative and fun tour of the beautiful USS Wisconsin. All of us were exhausted from the day and excited for tomorrow’s boat race!!! Tobey

They were treated to a great tour and overlook of the yard by Mr. Freeman. We spent the rest of the day learning about maritime careers and the campers took a lot of interest in being on a pilot boat. They also made the finishing touches on their boat construction, now just to decorate. Team 4 and Team 6 won their way into the Grand Finals today for the logistics robotic competition.
