These guys brought out our 1972 Cadillac ambulance for a little photo shoot 📸

It’s amazing to think that years ago this was a working ambulance. We still upkeep & maintain the Cadillac and it’s in ✨ pristine ✨ condition. Keep your eye out as we do bring the Cadillac to recruiting events, car shows & more! 🚑

Do you see how we pose in front of the ambulance? Very ✨mindful✨ & very ✨demure✨. We don’t do too much, we’re very mindful while we’re at the station. 💁🏼‍♀️

Pictured in these photos are our Chief, Richard, our Captain of Administration, Valerie, our Captain of Operations, Adam, our Deputy of Operations, Andrew and our Training Lieutenant, William. They have worked hard this 2024 year to make sure VBVRS runs well and they have been an integral part of our rescue squad. They’re very mindful, very demure and we very much appreciate that 🤗

Our thoughts and prayers are with The Virginia Beach Fire Department and Firefighter Gallinas family & friends during this hard time ❤️

It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we share with you the passing of Master Firefighter Matthew Gallina this afternoon from occupational cancer. It is truly impossible to describe the depth of Matt’s impact on our department and the tragedy of losing him far too soon.

Please keep the Gallina family and extended family in your thoughts and prayers.

More information will be shared as it becomes available.

🇺🇸Did you know that we, the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad has their own Honor Guard?

The Honor Guard serves as the “guardians of the colors” by displaying and escorting the National, State and Unit flags on ceremonial occasions at official city- and state-sponsored Emergency Medical Services events and related functions. The team is frequently called upon to present the colors at special rescue squad functions and we consider it an honor to treat our country’s flag with the respect and dignity it deserves.

Their most solemn duty is to show honor and respect to fallen members of the city’s entire Emergency Medical Services Department, and on special occasions, serve with the Honor Guards representing the city’s police and fire departments. The Honor Guard stands vigil during the viewing service and upon request, serves as pallbearers and ushers for the funeral service. Our Honor Guard also serves as ambassadors to the public, presenting a positive image of the city’s Emergency Medical Service and volunteer rescue squad system, and assists with its recruitment effort.

The Honor Guard currently consists of a number of dedicated members under the direction of Captain Jim Obal and Commander Raymond Ford, Sr. Each member maintains his/her immaculate white uniform and is committed to serve at special short-notice events.

Service with the Honor Guard is a voluntary labor of love and respect for the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad, our community and our nation. 🇺🇸

Only 135 days until Winter, but who is counting?! We may be 😅 It's been hot here in Virginia Beach so here is a throwback to the snowstorm of February 2015. Maybe looking at these photos we are okay waiting for Winter 😂 Our members have a lot of fun when it snows, since it doesn't happen often in Virginia Beach.

We hope everyone enjoys the last few weeks of Summer but don't worry, were on duty no matter the season, weather or time of day!

🎀 Girl power 💪🏼 There’s nothing like a 3 person all girl crew! Typically when we have a 3 person crew the 3rd person is either an intern (they’ve finished their EMT academy), a student (they’re in the EMT academy) or an observer (they may want to join the EMT academy)!

Looking to get more information on how to observe and become an EMT with the city of Virginia Beach? Head to https://ems.virginiabeach.gov/observe to learn more. 🚨🚑

On this ☁️ cloudy Friday we have some bright 🌟 and fun news! Two of our members, Devon & Lillian have been released from their internship to AIC’s (attendants-in-charge)! This means these ladies have completed their internship and are ready to serve the city of Virginia Beach and save lives on their own! Congratulations Devon & Lillian! 👏🏼🙌🏻

Devon Parker-Ashe! She is currently at Virginia Tech studying biology and neurology with plans to attend either Med school or PA school. She joined rescue because VB Ocean Rescue Showed her, her passion for emergency medicine. She joined Rescue 14 because her mom used to be a Paramedic with our squad and has friends that are currently apart!

🚑🚨🚑🚨🚑🚨🚑🚨🚑🚨🚑🚨🚑🚨🚑🚨🚑

Lillian Creasey! She started her EMS journey as apart of Virginia Tech Rescue Squad and Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad. She wants to one day work as a pediatrician. Once moving back to Virginia Beach, she wanted to continue to serve her community, so she joined VB Rescue. She chose Rescue 14 for the location and the call volume.

Meet our two newly released AIC’s (attendants in charge)! Both Marc & Connor have completed their internship with VBVRS and are ready to help the citizens and visitors of Virginia Beach! 🙌🏻

🧠Marc has a degree in Psychology and has a passion for mental health. He has grown up here in the Virginia Beach area and wants to give back to his community. He joined Rescue 14 because of the call volume and the quality of our equipment.

⚕️Connor is currently in school for premed and has ambitions to go to medical school for either a PA or MD. He joined Rescue because he has friends in the system who told him to join as well as it would help him in his schooling and goals of getting into medical school. He joined Rescue 14 because of those same friends and the call volume.

Welcome aboard gentleman and good work 👏🏼🎉

VBVRS models, Abreionah & Jacob pose with our new Pediatric bags! These bags are new and improved and organized by own very own member, William! He even put a cool VBVRS patch on them 😏 These bags will make it easier for Pediatric calls and to find supplies.

The live saving supplies in these bags are purchased by VBVRS but paid for by YOU 🫵🏻 VBVRS relies on donations so if you’re interested in learning how you can donate to help us stock these bags & the rest of the ambulance head to https://vbvrs.networkforgood.com !

Recently, our dedicated members, Jenni Mac, Richard Maguire & Adam Harris did an outstanding job hosting a tour and educational class for the Daisy Girl Scouts. It was truly inspiring to witness their passion as they taught the girls how and when to call 911. Thank you all for your dedication to VBVRS and for helping to shape the future leaders of tomorrow. (& we got some girl scout cookies 😏🍪)

We love to host Girl Scouts and teach them all about our station! If you’re interested in having your troop come to your station email [email protected]!
