Keep Virginia Beach Above Water

Keep Virginia Beach Above Water Mismanagement and rampant corruption have made the City of Virginia Beach insufferable for residents.

Local officials serve to personally profit a few legacy names, while the public suffers a never-ending cycle of rising taxes and destruction of property.

**PUBLIC COMMENTS due June 5**
Regarding the Interfacility Traffic Area and Vicinity Master Plan update - NO INDUSTRIAL ZONING!
Email: [email protected]

This is PUBLIC LAND the VBDA is attempting to convert to PRIVATE industrial use at a discount.
* Disestablished the VBDA Virginia Beach Economic Development - 'manufacturing' is not now nor has it ever been an 'economic driver' in Virginia Beach
* Take back our public spaces
** REMOVE Mayor Bobby Builder-bro Destruction Dyer - it's the only way to stop the industrialization of Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach City Council 👀
Scheduled for approval next Tuesday. It's when residents aren't watching very closely we wake up to 44 acres of a manufacturer of data center equipment in public agricultural land.

Mayor Bobby Dyer wants a pat on the back for 'rejecting data centers' but last night said "we need industrial land." If anyone can get a response from Dyer and ask him why, exactly, he believes this to be true. Why is he determined on taking public agricultural land handing it to a polluting destructive manufacturing company at 10% value AND giving them grants and tax incentives AND the VBDA can't even bring them in for this currently. This is the mayor who is against everything residents want and placating to destructive outsiders to come in and destroy the city at a discount - DYER MUST GO!

The VBDA Virginia Beach Economic Development needs to go. Virginia Beach City Council is currently placating because of the uprising against data centers but ten of them sat by and approved Acoustical Sheetmetal Company leaving Barbara Henley for Virginia Beach City Council as the lone representative standing.

If there are 'so many industries' waiting to come into the city, why is the VBDA still soliciting online? "Room to Grow"...? Where, exactly...? 350 acres at VB National?

Serious Question: When did the VBDA acquire the Virginia Beach National Golf Course?
And, ONCE AGAIN **falsely advertising agriculturally zoned land (VB National) as being 'available.'** This is the EXACT SAME misconduct the VBDA did with ASC.

Another glaring misrepresentation we need to talk about is where the VBDA claims Innovation Park is, "Certified Business Ready." Specifically, they claim, "Phase I Environmental Assessment" - a quick look at the 2000 wetlands mapper shows at least 38.67 acres is wetlands. 38.67 acres which could be added to the city's stormwater system as the 'bestest' of BMPs - naturalization.

The VBDA is destroying our city and councilmembers are more than willing to stand by and watch it happen.

'Debrief' on Virginia Beach City Council's 'briefing' on data centers. Pretty sure they really didn't want to hear all of the open-mic comments on data centers. If you are still signed up -- we need to disestablish the VBDA.

They all 'seem' to be against data centers but here's the lies. Kathy Warren, Director of Planning stated the only data centers we have currently are: "Globalinx, 9,712 sq. ft. on a 7 acre parcel and Telexius 21,000 sq. ft. on a 3.4 acre site"

Survey says- FALSE.
Already planned and approved are:
- Globalinx - 150,000 sq. ft three-phased data center of which 10,750 is the cable landing
- ACA International - 130,000 sq. ft. data center
- PointOne - two 31,000 sq. ft. total 62,000 data centers and cable landings

And apparently over the past 24 hours from the Planning Commission meeting yesterday and Miss Jarrett's Virginia Beach Economic Development spiel today "advanced manufacturing" has somehow become an 'economic driver'...? FALSE. Take away the free land and tax-breaks the VBDA is handing out and that would take care of that farse.

Old man Mayor Bobby Dyer is still under the delusion that we need more industrial using STIHL as an example... STIHL the only manufacturer in Virginia Beach that is fully permitted and compliant with regular reporting online. STIHL started locally in the early 70's, has a sustainability pledge, and is the only manufacturer in Virginia Beach with a green roof -- all initiatives that were once required to locate in Virginia Beach.

Mayor Bobby Dyer seems to forget that the reckless development, deforestation, and 'push' to industrialize the city while failing to require any environmental permitting or benchmarks whatsoever **corresponds directly with him becoming mayor.**

Topic of discussion at the Virginia Beach City Government Planning Commission meeting -- "Why now? Why so fast?"
Answer: The greed and private interests of the VBDA Virginia Beach Economic Development

- The state and federal government are throwing money at data center infrastructure
- The administration has allowed data center infrastructure to bypass environmental permitting requirements

The ONLY URGENCY is from the VBDA -- they want the grant money that goes SPECIFICALLY TO INFRASTRUCTURE FOR DATA CENTERS

* REMEMBER- Kathy Warren is the same 'city planner' who conspired with Michael Sifen and Eddie Bourdon (they jointly own the property) to build an oyster bar and restaurant *IN Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers JURISDICTIONAL WETLANDS* in the Naval Air Station Oceana overlay, and City Attorney Mark Stiles LIED ON THE RECORD stating "the Navy approved it."
** Had residents not raised hell -- there would be a restaurant permitted by the city in direct violation of federal and state law. **
