Timothy J. Quick, PC - Attorneys at Law PERMANENTLY CLOSED 3/30/2019 Tim Quick has devoted his legal career to trying serious legal matters, often to juries, on behalf of those in need of a little justice.
(1)

Whether that person was the victim of a crime, a person adversely affected by the negligence of another, or an otherwise good person that unfortunately found him or herself under arrest, Tim has represented all sorts of people in need and earned a reputation as a tough but fair advocate. Tim began his legal career in 1994 as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Virginia Beach. After five years of prosecuting major felonies such as murder, robbery, burglary, and sexual offenses, he worked for a law firm that was hired by various insurance companies to defend those accused of causing automobile and construction accidents. With the inside knowledge gained from working for the insurance companies, and from his experience as a prosecutor, he transformed his practice into representing those injured by the negligence of others, and those charged with serious criminal and traffic offenses. Tim was also selected to serve as the Deputy Capital Defender for Southeastern Virginia, representing clients against whom the Commonwealth sought the death penalty. Tim now specializes in personal injury, criminal defense, and serious traffic offenses. He also proudly serves as an officer on the board of the Virginia Beach Bar Association, a local professional association made up of over 600 lawyers and judges, and in 2011 served as its President. Be The Match

Carole Levin is a teacher at a California middle school. One of her students, 14-year old Melissa, sadly lost her fight with leukemia just a few days before she could walk her 8th grade graduation ceremony. A bone marrow transplant match was never found for her.

Carole was touched by Melissa's battle and has started an annual walk with her students and fundraising through Team Be The Match. The Finish Melissa's Walk honors Melissa's memory and helps to raise money and awareness so future patients can find their bone marrow match.

Battle Buddy

In boot camp, the transition from civilian to warrior is a long and tough road.

Yet, when leaving the military the transition from warrior back to civilian is a much shorter process.

In the same way that there are many resources invested into the transformation of a civilian into a combat effective warrior, there must be an equal effort put into the successful transition of a warrior back into the civilian world.

The Battle Buddy Foundation is dedicated to providing a support structure to those veterans requiring more assistance during their transition, by working to offer support and opportunities to veterans of ALL eras, at no cost, through our service dog program, and other services.

We know many notable figures tragically died in 2016, but let’s not forget the troops who were killed in the line of duty while fighting for our country overseas. Please take the time to honor and recognize a few of the fallen who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom.

The Night Before Christmas

T'was the night before Christmas, He lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house, Made of plaster and stone.

I had come down the chimney, With presents to give,
And to see just who, In this home did live.

I looked all about, A strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents, Not even a tree.

No stocking by the mantle, Just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures, Of far distant lands.

With medals and badges, Awards of all kinds,
A sober thought, Came through my mind.

For this house was different, It was dark and dreary,
I found the home of a soldier, Once I could see clearly.

The soldier lay sleeping, Silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor, In this one bedroom home.

The face was so gentle, The room in such disorder,
Not how I pictured, A soldier.

Was this the hero, Of whom I'd just read?,
Curled up on a poncho, The floor for a bed?

I realized the families, That I saw this night,
Owed their lives to these soldiers, Who were willing to fight.

Soon round the world, The children would play,
And grownups would celebrate, A bright Christmas Day.

They all enjoyed freedom, Each month of the year,
Because of the soldiers, Like the one lying here.

I couldn't help wonder, How many lay alone,
On a cold Christmas Eve, In a land far from home.

The very thought brought A tear to my eye,
I dropped to my knees, And started to cry.

The soldier awakened, And I heard a rough voice,
'Santa, don't cry. This life is my choice.

I fight for freedom, I don't ask for more,
My life is my God, My country, my corps.'

The soldier rolled over, And drifted to sleep,
I couldn't control it, I continued to weep.

I kept watch for hours, So silent and still,
And we both shivered, From the cold night's chill.

I didn't want to leave, On that cold, dark night,
This guardian of honor, So willing to fight.

Then the soldier rolled over, With a voice, soft and pure,
Whispered, 'Carry on Santa It's Christmas Day, all is secure.'

One look at my watch, And I knew he was right,
'Merry Christmas my friend, And to all a good night.'
