THE NAVY LODGE PROGRAM
The Navy Lodge Program was established in 1969 to support military on permanent change of station (PCS) status. It operates under the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM). It is a non-appropriated fund instrumentality, self-sustaining and financially independent of the exchange. Its mission has evolved into a more complete “quality of life” program, serving active duty personnel when on orders and when pursuing leisure activities. The Navy Lodge Program saves over $40 million per year for the Navy and the Sailor. It establishes minimum rates to retain profit for reinvestment. It doesn’t rely on or compete with the Navy Exchange for capital funding. It is managed by the Vice President NEXCOM, Director, Navy Lodge Program and DoD Reservation Center, to ensure all the operational and capital requirements are met.
