Today, the Assembly Republican Caucus announced that Assemblywoman Alexandra Macedo (R-Tulare) has been elected as the new Assembly Minority Leader.
Incoming Assembly Minority Leader Macedo and the Assembly Republican Caucus are laser-focused on a shared priority: protecting California families and small businesses from the relentless affordability crisis gripping our state.
From sky-high gas prices to soaring utility rates and rising taxes, everyday Californians are facing unsustainable economic pressures.
“I am deeply honored by the trust my colleagues have placed in me, and I am proud to stand alongside a unified caucus dedicated to real, common-sense solutions,” said Leader Alexandra M. Macedo. “Our message is clear: California is becoming unaffordable for working families, and our caucus is united in the fight to bring down the cost of living, make our communities safer and hold state bureaucrats accountable.”
Macedo continued, “As I step into this role, I want to thank Leader Emeritus Heath Flora for his service and commitment to our caucus. His work is appreciated.”
Assembly Republicans stand together to push back against Sacramento’s costly policies and bring down the state's high cost of living.
To round out Macedo's leadership team, the caucus also elected Assemblyman David Tangipa (R-Fresno) as Minority Whip, Assemblyman Josh Hoover (R-Folsom) as Minority Floor Leader, Assemblywoman Natasha Johnson (R-Lake Elsinore) as Minority Caucus Chair, and Assemblyman Joe Patterson (R-Rocklin) as Minority Deputy Leader.
