The Little Years Our mission is to serve young moms at Highland by providing a consistent ministry of rest, fun, fellowship, and spiritual nurturing. Galatians 6:9

And that’s a wrap on our semester! 🥲🫶

Thank you to everyone who helped serve on Monday, we are so grateful for the opportunity to help other ministries in our church.

We are also so grateful for each and every mom who took part in Little Years this semester and for all of our amazing mentor moms who pour into us week after week. This is such a special community and I know we are all so grateful for it! 💛

We still have our Moms Night Out next Monday, May 5th at 7pm. We hope to see you all there! 😍🎨

This last Monday we wrapped up our video series, Shepherding a Child’s Heart 🥲

We learned about shepherding in the teen years. Although most of us are not there yet, we can take this wisdom to heart and apply it later. Our goal in these years is to understand our children and have an influence in their lives. We are planting the seeds now that hopefully will have taken root and begin to produce fruit in the teen years.

We hope you’ve all enjoyed the amazing wisdom and conversations that have come out of this study. It’s hard to believe our semester is almost over! This Monday is our last play date! We hope to see you all there 😍

On Monday we had such a great time together! It’s hard to believe our semester is almost over 🥹

We continued our conversation about focusing on heart attitudes and how all behavior stems from the heart. Just because you’ve gotten the behavior you want from your child doesn’t mean you’ve focused on the root behind it. Our goal as parents is to steadily show and teach our children about the grace and power of the gospel. Plant the seeds, and the Lord will grow them! 🌱

This week we had another great meeting! We learned about shepherding our children from birth to 5 years old ✨

Tedd Tripp referenced Ephesians 6:1-3 a lot. He spoke about how we need to teach our children that the expectation is that they obey and honor the boundaries we put in place. As a result, it will go well for them and they will live a long life. *He did share that we live in a fallen world and so sometimes things don’t go as planned, but that if our children learn to honor and obey the time that they are here on earth will go well*

We hope throughout this week you all were able to take to heart what we learned on Monday. That our most powerful appeals to our children (in regards to discipline and discipleship) is to appeal to their conscience.

Jesus appealed to the conscience of those He taught, to deal with root issues not just surface ones. Our goal should be to help our children see the goodness of God at all times. To effectively communicate with them at all times and for the long run - not just when it’s convenient to us or during times of discipline. This requires stamina, and biblical wisdom and strength (from us as parents). Parenting is the main job that God has called us to do - may we do it with only the strength and wisdom He can provide!
