Commander's Vision
1st Battalion, 21st Infantry is characterized as a group of quiet and consummate professionals that can be counted on to accomplish any assigned task or mission exceptionally well, and do so while serving in a manner that positively represents our Nation.

- 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry is trained, prepared to deploy, conduct operations across the spectrum of conflict, and win. Building a great team results in the whole being more powerful than the sum of all the parts … we will always fight as a combined arms team.
- Instill the Warrior Ethos and Army Values. I believe in faith, family, our nation and serving a purpose higher than self.
- Maintenance of Equipment and Property. Soldiers and families are the most precious resource in this battalion and demand competent, caring leaders. Taking proper care of Solders and families will allow us to focus on the mission at hand when we deploy.

- The cornerstone of this battalion will be our noncommissioned officers. I will rely on them, especially the command sergeant major and first sergeants, to be the keepers of the standards and to lead by example.
