The Hawaiian Patriotic League (HPL) will be at the La Hoihoi Ea event this Sunday July 31, 2016 to celebrate La Hoihoi Ea. We will also be signing up those interested in joining the Hawaiian Patriotic League. The HPL was established in 1893 to stand in opposition to the illegal overthrow and subsequent illegal occupation of The Hawaiian Kingdom by the United States.
The preamble to the HPL's original constitution states;

" Whereas vital changes in our Country have taken place, which may affect its independence and the Civil Rights of its Subject and Citizens, thereby rendering indispensable a compact and zealous Union between all men who love the Country, irrespective of Party or creed."
If you believe in the mission of our Kupuna and our Kuleana. If you are ready to join together as one people, one voice standing for what is Pono. If you love and are loyal to our country, The Hawaiian Kingdom, regardless of any particular group, party, politics or creed. If you believe in the sovereignty of The Hawaiian Kingdom as an independent nation state, recognized by the family of nations on Nov 28,1843 (La Ku'oko'a). If you believe in our people, our future, our culture, our language, our true history and are a true Hawaii Aloha Aina (Hawaiian Patriot). Please come talk story with us. The Office of Hawaiian Affairs is seeking responses to an anonymous 5-question survey to provide its Board of Trustees helpful information for the Board’s Thursday (4/30) meeting on the planned Mauna Kea thirty-meter telescope.

The survey asks participants about how possible OHA stances on the planned Mauna Kea thirty-meter telescope affects their views regarding OHA’s efforts to fulfill its mission to improve the conditions of Native Hawaiians.

The survey is not intended to be a scientific poll. The survey results will serve only as a general indicator of people’s views for the OHA Board’s consideration.

The Keiki of King Intermediate School here in Kaneohe will be gathering together THIS Thursday 3-5 pm after school in front of Windward Mall (Macy's Women's Dept) to stand in Unity with all our Ohana on Mauna Kea and the rest of the world. Very proud of this group of Keiki who's willing to stand up for their rights as Kanaka Maoli and our Sacred Aina!!! PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD AND REPOST

!!!!! On this day 116 years ago the Hawaiian Kingdom lost one of her most beloved treasures.
Princess Victoria Ka'iulani was a champion for her people and for her country. My Great Grandma (Kapakui 1889-1985), who was ten at the time of Ka'iulani's death, told me the common belief of most Hawaiian's at that time was that Ka'iulan's love for Hawaii and her people was so great that watching the loss of The Hawaiian Kingdom literally killed her.

" Unbidden, stand upon your shores today where I thought so soon to receive a royal welcome on my way to my own kingdom. I come unattended, except by the loving hearts that have come with me over the wintry seas. I hear that commissioners from my land have been for many days asking this great nation to take away my little vineyard. They speak no word to me, and leave me to find out as I can from the rumors of the air that they would leave me without a home, or a name, or a nation.
Seventy years ago Christian America sent over Christian men and women to give religion and civilization to Hawaii. They gave us the gospel, they made us a nation and we learned to love and trust America. Today three of the sons of those missionaries are at your capital asking you to undo their fathers' work. Who sent them? Who gave them authority to break the constitution, which they swore they would uphold.
Today, I, a poor, weak girl, with not one of my people near me, and all these Hawaiian statesmen against me, have strength to stand up for the rights of my people. Even now I can hear their wail in my heart and it gives me strength and courage and I am strong, strong in the faith of God, strong in the knowledge that I am right, strong in the strength of 70,000,000 people who in this free land will hear my cry and will refuse to let their flag cover dishonor to mine."

The Hawaiian Patriotic League recently shared an excerpt from Grover Cleveland's message to Congress regarding the illegal overthrow of our Hawaiian Kingdom. As of today that post has been SHARED 148 times and has reached over 8,560 people. Since that post our site has gained over 100 new people following our page. We have received over 50 private messages from people saying things like-
"I had no idea this is what happened" - "Could this possibly be true" - "I cant believe that my country did this" - " What can I do to help" - "Where can I learn more".
