To every voter, volunteer, donor, supporter, and friend — thank you.

This campaign has always been about people. It’s been about the conversations at community events, the phone calls, the messages of encouragement, the prayers, the shared posts, and the belief that together we can make a difference.

Campaigns are about more than elections. They are about building relationships, strengthening community, and standing up for what we believe in. Because of you, this journey has been meaningful, inspiring, and powerful.

Although I do believe there was a disadvantage not being published in the voter guide given at the polls, I don’t believe it would have changed the end results.

Nevertheless, thank you for trusting me. Thank you for believing in the vision. And thank you for standing with me.

This is not the end — it’s just the beginning. 💙

My name is Robert Mitchener, and I’m running for Wake County Commissioner At-Large because I believe leadership should be steady, principled, and rooted in service.

I’m not running for a title. I’m running because I care deeply about this county — about the families who are working hard every day, about the seniors who deserve stability, about the small businesses that are the backbone of our economy, and about the next generation who will inherit the decisions we make right now.
Wake County is growing quickly.

Growth can be a blessing — but only if it’s managed with foresight and responsibility. We need leadership that understands balance. Balance between development and affordability. Balance between public safety and compassion. Balance between opportunity and accountability.

I believe in careful planning. I believe in protecting taxpayers. I believe in strengthening community partnerships — with churches, nonprofits, law enforcement, educators, and local businesses — because real solutions don’t come from one office. They come from collaboration.

As an At-Large Commissioner, I would serve the entire county — urban and rural communities alike. My commitment would be to every resident, not just one district, not just one group.

I’m Robert Mitchener. I believe in thoughtful leadership, responsible growth, and making decisions today that we can be proud of tomorrow. I would be honored to earn your trust and your support.

There is still time to vote !!!

Having the opportunity to speak to people all around the county has been one of the greatest honors of this journey.

From community meetings and church gatherings to neighborhood forums and campus conversations, every room has reminded me that our county is filled with passionate, thoughtful, and resilient people. Listening to residents share their concerns about housing, public safety, education, small businesses, and opportunity has deepened my commitment to serve with transparency and purpose.

What stands out most is that no matter the zip code, people want the same things — safe communities, strong schools, economic opportunity, and leaders who truly hear them.

These conversations have not only shaped my vision, but strengthened my belief that when we stay connected and engaged across the entire county, we build solutions that reflect all of us — not just a few.

What are the key responsibilities of a county commissioner? How can my role in office serve to benefit our community?

I will be engaging in a live interview tomorrow at 6:45 PM EST. Join me on Facebook LIVE for an exclusive and intimate discussion with Cynthia Taylor and the CT Connects NC platforms. I'm excited to connect with you, and you'll also have the opportunity to learn more about me. I hope to see you there!
