Busy community engagement day. But it was good stuff!!

First stop to was the Northeast Community Garden's Holiday Drop-In. (Thanks Ms. Tilda for the fresh greens.. They're going to go great with tomorrow's dinner!)

Then it was off to the Wake Forest Loading Dock Launch Party and Holiday Pop-up. (If you're looking for office space in Wake Forest, check out the Loading Dock).

Next stop was my chapter's annual Holiday Vendor Marketplace at the Dream Center. Knightdale Wake Forest Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta.... Great vendors!

Next stop... Holiday Fundraiser my friend and colleague, Wake County Commissioners Shinica Thomas.

Last.....our first annual neighborhood Christmas Tree Lighting including Santa and outdoor movie!

Soooo... I'm up on this beautiful Sunday morning enjoying one of my favorite pastimes - reading the paper and drinking coffee. I see this HALF page ad the Town has placed in our local newspapers paper, The Wake Weekly, for a Notice of Public Hearing reference a Zoning Map Amendment petition. I then went to the town's website and cut and pasted the notice below notice. (You can sign up on the Town's website to receive notifications of just about everything we do in Wake Forest.)

Now what I do know, from what I've experienced as a Wake Forest Commissioner, is that a lot of folks will complain about zoning, rezoning and development, but very few people will show up or even take the time to understand the process.

Don't sit on the sidelines... get involved... and informed.

Thanks to everyone for your support. We came up short in the mayoral race; lost by 562 votes. But, I'm extremely proud of the campaign we ran. We received 45% of the votes against a 20-year incumbent. Thanks to my campaign team, all my campaign volunteers, supporters, family and friends.Congratulations to all of the candidates who stepped out to serve and to those who won.
