Hope is on the Horizon Help to rebuild South Kingstown playgrounds in public
housing developments, Champagne Heights and Fournier Estates, through advocacy and fundraising.

Right here in South Kingstown, playgrounds in public housing developments are not only outdated and dilapidated, but simply unsafe. Years of neglect and budget constraints have left more than 150 local children with inadequate - and in some cases dangerous – play equipment. Opportunities for safe play are especially important in public housing developments where children are often isolated due to a host of factors including a lack of family transportation that leaves them unable to easily travel to other area playgrounds.

Hope is on the horizon!
New governance and executive leadership at the South Kingstown Housing Authority is not only ready to rebuild the playgrounds, but the housing itself. This will take significant resources and patience. In the short-term, there are things that can be done to improve the situation for the children living at Champagne Heights and Fournier Estates, two of South Kingstown’s primary public housing complexes for families.
