Congratulations Wakefield Human Rights Commission on a warm & wonderful women's day celebration! A few Girl Scout troops led the way in showing us what service and community look like- we made blankets for Mystic Valley Elder Services, we played games, we had tea & cookies. One of the most relaxing & affirming afternoons I've had in awhile.

Please join the Wakefield Human Rights Commission on Saturday for an international women's day celebration, in the Galvin cafeteria from 4-6 pm. Community, conversation, cookies. All my favorite things. See you there!

Thank you Wakefield Human Rights Commission for a terrific & well attended MLK celebration. Thanks also to WCAT for livestreaming, on a snowy morning. Congratulations Ike Adams, organizer of Porchfest, for the community service award, & for leaving us with Bill & Ted's advice to "be excellent to each other." Thanks for the support Sen. Jason Lewis, and Rep. Kate Lipper-Garabedian. Many wise words were shared, that we carry forward.

Happy Hannukah! This evening the town menorah was lit for the first night- it was festive and chilly on the upper common, with song, delicious latkes and jelly donuts, a greeting from Town Administrator Dee Casey, a dreidel guessing game, and gelt for the kids to enjoy. Thanks Chabad of Wakefield for an inspiring evening. It's the festival of light- let's keep each other warm in the glow of a supportive community.
