🍂📚 September at the Wales Public Library!

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and if you don’t have a library card yet, this is a wonderful time to stop in and get one. Your library card connects you to books, movies, digital resources, our Library of Things, programs, and so much more—and we’re always happy to help you find what you need.

We’re especially looking forward to starting our new monthly Graphic Novel Book Club for tweens & teens this month! We’ll also have Back to School Bingo, Portraits with a Purpose, and our Halloween Costume Exchange later in September. 🎃

A couple of quick calendar notes: Adult Book Club will meet one week later than usual because of the Labor Day holiday, and there will be no Kids Creative Club this month.

September always feels like a bit of a fresh start. Come check out what’s happening this month and see you at the library!

We’re looking for volunteers!

The Wales Public Library is always grateful for community members who are willing to share their time, talents, and ideas with us. Right now, we’re especially looking for a volunteer—or a few volunteers—who would be interested in helping facilitate an after-school art program for kids once a month.

You don’t need to be a professional artist! We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with children, likes being creative, and would have fun helping plan and lead simple art projects.

We also welcome volunteers who may be interested in helping with other library programs, projects, or activities.

Such a wonderful morning at Wiggles & Wonder! 💛

There was lots of singing, movement, play, and plenty of smiles from our littlest library friends. We love seeing everyone come together each week and watching the kids become more comfortable, curious, and connected.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today—we had such a great time!

What a fun way to wrap up summer! 🛼💛

A huge thank you to the Friends of the Wales Public Library and Interskate South for helping make our End of Summer Skating Party possible, and to everyone who came out to celebrate with us tonight. We loved seeing so many families together, having fun, and making a few more summer memories before heading back to school.

Thank you for spending the evening with us and for continuing to make our library community such a special one. We hope everyone had a wonderful time! 💚

Back-to-school season is officially here, and we loved kicking it off with such a fun Back-to-School Story Time today! 📚✏️ It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, share a few stories, and spend some time together before everyone settles into a new school-year routine.

And there’s still one more chance to squeeze in a little summer fun! 🛼 There’s still time to stop by the library and pick up tickets for tonight’s End-of-Summer Skating Party at Interskate 91.

We hope you’ll join us for one last summer celebration before backpacks, homework, and busy fall schedules take over. Wishing all of our students, families, teachers, and school staff a wonderful start to the new school year! ❤️
