The Wallingford Lions Club is again offering its Annual Scholarships for Wallingford Students. The Club will offer Two scholarships in 2026, The Wallingford Lions Scholarship for $1,000.00 and the Andrew Pedersen-Keel Memorial Scholarship for $1,000.00. To qualify applicants must be Wallingford residents who are High School Seniors and planning to further their education. Student applications are evaluated based on academic excellence, school and community involvement, and financial need.

The Lions are proud to continue offering a memorial Scholarship in memory of Army Captain Andrew Pedersen-Keel, who grew up in Wallingford and was killed in action in Afghanistan in March of 2013. Andrew’s courage and selflessness are a testament to his commitment to his country and his community and are qualities that the Lions are proud to remember in this Memorial Scholarship.

The Club utilizes the Common Scholarship application, available from the Guidance Departments of both Sheehan and Lyman Hall High Schools. Local students should sign on to the Guidance Department to prepare their application. Students who do not attend either of the Public High Schools may contact the guidance department at either of the following email addresses to obtain an application ([email protected] or [email protected]). Applicants must submit the confidential financial statement, that is part of the form, as well as two letters of reference and a transcript of their grades.

A single application to the Wallingford Lions is all that is needed to make the applicant eligible for either award. Applications should be mailed to the Wallingford Lions Club, P.O. Box 4085, Wallingford, CT. 06492. Applications must be complete and postmarked to the organization by Friday, May 1, 2026, to be considered.

Please contact Peter G. Pfau, Scholarship Chairperson, [email protected], with any questions.
