The Carnwath Community Farming Third Annua Seed Swap was a hit! CCF is a local nonprofit that gives residents a place to grow food, and we also grow food and flowers to donate back to the community.

Any remaining seeds from the event were brought to the Grinnell Library, where CCF actively manage a small seed library.

Can’t wait!

Calling all resident gardeners, the Town’s sponsored Carnwath Community Farming will be hosting a Seed Swap at the River Valley Arts Center on East Main Street in the Village of Wappingers Falls. They will have native seeds to share, you’re also welcome to bring your own and swap! This is a great opportunity to meet neighbors and get a jump start on your Spring planning. Joining the event will be Stonykill Farm, Dutchess Land Conservancy, Cornell Master Gardeners, Verplank Garden Club, and Evergreen Minds. The event is January 22 from 5:30-8:30 and light food will be provided. Come for a bit, join the whole time! It’s going to be a great event and we hope you make it! Event is free and open to all!

🌱 Seed Swap + Community Gathering! 🌱
Join Carnwath Community Farming on January 22nd for a fun, free event with local gardening experts, tons of seeds to share, and free pizza & snacks 🍕 *Details in comments*

✨ Special guest artist Sergey Jivetin will be offering seed engravings inspired by your plant stories.

The 2025 Wappinger Dahlia Show will be on the front porch of the Mesier Homestead on Sunday, September 14th! (rain location TBD) Many thanks to the Wappinger Dahlia and Improvement Society and Carnwath Community Farming for their collaboration and effort in putting this show together.

All are invited to participate, either as a spectator, competitor, or both, to celebrate the long history of these quirky, exuberant blooms in our community!

— The first dahlia show in the country is back!

Join the revival of a Wappinger tradition that dates back over 124 years! Spectators and competitors alike are welcome at The 2025 Wappinger Dahlia Show, happening Sunday, September 14 at the Wappingers Historical Society.

Celebrate the quirky, exuberant beauty of dahlias, learn about their rich local history — and maybe even take home a ribbon!
