Placemakingwarre Developing a vibrant and viable City Center (1) A place to present ideas and discuss/comment on ideas for "Place Making" in Warren's Downtown City Center and other places throughout Warren, Mich.

Michigan is at the forefront of a national movement known as placemaking. It is a simple concept based on a single principle - people choose to live in places that offer the amenities, resources, social and professional networks, and opportunities to support a thriving lifestyle. If Warren is to remain the 3rd largest city in Michigan we must embrace this concept in developing a Downtown City Center and in rebranding our city as a whole.

Asphalt Rubber Technology Service

While slightly more expensive, Asphalt Rubber Technology (ART) makes for better roads and helps to protect our environment. The objections to the use of ART comes from Michigan Road Builders. Why? Because the roads last 7 times longer.

Downtown entertainment complex and apartment tower get tax breaks

This is Placemaking. If only others in Warren's government understood and would embrace the concept. Their short term personal gains are robbing the citizens of the long term benefits for all.

The two projects will be built at a combined cost of more than $32.7 million in a parking lot next to the B.O.B. night club that was purchased from the city by downtown impresario Greg Gilmore.
