Just a few friendly reminders on entitlements during the move process:

1. Animals must be kept out of the way of the TSP crews for the duration of the move. They cannot be free to roam during the move process. We must respect that some individuals are not comfortable with animals. It is the customers duty to keep the animals contained.

2. Customers should avoid dictating which rooms can be packed and on which days. This will undoubtedly cause delays in your move; meaning it will take longer than normal.

3. Customers are responsible for making sure all pictures and wall decor are off the walls for the TSP.

4. TSPs are not authorized to go into a customers attic. If you are shipping items from an attic please remove those goods and bring them to the main floor to be packed by the TSP.

5. TSPs are authorized to utilize to***co products as long as they are adhering to the “50 feet regulation.”

6. TSPs are required to inventory your household goods, however, TSPs are NOT required to list every individual item that is in a box on the inventory list.

!!!! PEAK SEASON IS UPON US !!!!

As we enter the peak season for PCS moves we ask that you have alternate move dates available as a back up plan.

Peak season is extreamly busy; specifically June and July. If you can avoid moving in those months please do so. If you have to move in the peak of peak; please have flexability and we will do our best to accomodate your requested move dates.

Also, you have the option to do a Personally Procured Move (PPM)/ Do It Yourself Move (DITY). If you choose this route you do receive an incentive for moving your goods yourself.

When filing out your application (DD 2278) and you get to the question that ask, "Is packing required?" Please answer "YES". Even though the movers are not packing your HHG items, you are. That question alone can be a difference between $50.00-800.00+ depending on the weight. Hope this tip helps and as always :) Happy Moving!!

SM/CIV/RA prior to your pack date a Pre-Move Survey must be conducted. The movers will do a walk through of the home, conduct a phone survey or something that is new a video survey. Please make sure to contact your TSP if you have any questions if you are not able to contact your TSP please give us a call (586-282-7764) and we will each out to the TSP for you.

Your Essential Box
On the day of your move make an Essential Box with hardware from items broken down (i.e: sandwich bag that contains bolts and screws from your bed when its broke down, etc.) or items that are readily accessible. Dont forget to pack a shower curtain, screw driver, hammer, nails, HDMI cords, remotes, and etc.

😃 HAPPY FRIDAY!!! Yes you may ship your Front-Load Washing Machine! When you purchased the washing machine it came with equipment to help secure and stabilize the washing machine for storage and/or transport, the movers will need those tools and equipment with its time for your move. Please have it ready for their use on the day they movers arrive to pack your shipment. Also, please discontinue using the washing machine at least 72 hours prior to your pack date to ensure there is not any excess water in the machine. If there is water in the washing machine the movers may refuse to move it due to the risk of damage. Please review the attached for handout for more details on shipping a Front-Load Washing Machine. 😀HAPPY FRIDAY! 🌬 Winter is here 🥶 In preparation for the arrival of the movers please be sure to shovel the snow and salt the driveway so the movers have a clear and safe path to the home (and garage/shed/barn). If there is not a clear path this will cause a delay in your shipment and a possible attempted pickup fee. Remember, we are here to help! Loss/Damage 🧐 discovered after delivery shall be listed on the "Notification of Loss/Damage After Delivery" form and entered into DPS by you. All loss/damage must be declared and filed within 75 days of delivery. Neither the TSP nor the Government will pay for items not identified on the loss/damage report within 75 days. Good Day Friends:

We wanted to inform you that our office is no longer a Personal Property Shipping Office (PPSO). We are now a Personal Property Processing Office (PPPO).

We will still assist you in initiating your shipment request. However, we are no longer booking shipments. All shipments will be booked through JPPSO-MID ATLANTIC.

We will however still be responsible for processing PPM's from start to finish.

If you need assistance in initiating your move resquest please feel free to contact our office.

Happy Transportation Tip Tuesday SM :)

While in the Service, if you perform a HHG/UB/NTS move, the movers will provide packing material for the move. If you already began packing items no worries, please leave all the boxes open so the movers can do inventory and make sure they are not transporting anything prohibited or illegal. If your items are improperly packed the movers will repack them for you.

General information

If you are a Military Member or a DOD Employee ready to execute a move you are in the right place! There are a couple different options to help start the process: 1. You may schedule an appointment to come into our office. You will attend a briefing with one of our counselors, and have all required documents processed for you at that time. 2. You may log onto the www.move.mil website, register for DPS, and complete your data entry in the Self Counseling. Once completed you will print, sign, and upload your documents back into the system. Once submitted one of our counselors will retrieve your documents and contact you for a briefing. *If you are moving for the first time, separating, or retiring we strongly recommend you make an in office appointment to discuss your shipping entitlement. *Executing an Unaccompanied Baggage, Household Goods, Non-Temp Storage Shipment? You will need to provide the following: --Signed DD form 1299 (Application) --Signed DD form 1797 ( Counselor's Checklist) --Official Orders and Amendments *Executing a Home of Record Move? Please provide the above documents AND please include a copy of your Enlistment Record Brief (ERB). *Executing a Personally Procured Move (PPM)?
