Detroit Personal Property Processing Office provides shipment support for military and civilian employees for the transportation of their household goods.

If you are a Military Member or a DOD Employee ready to execute a move you are in the right place! There are a couple different options to help start the process: 1. You may schedule an appointment to come into our office. You will attend a briefing with one of our counselors, and have all required documents processed for you at that time. 2. You may log onto the www.move.mil website, register for DPS, and complete your data entry in the Self Counseling. Once completed you will print, sign, and upload your documents back into the system. Once submitted one of our counselors will retrieve your documents and contact you for a briefing. *If you are moving for the first time, separating, or retiring we strongly recommend you make an in office appointment to discuss your shipping entitlement. *Executing an Unaccompanied Baggage, Household Goods, Non-Temp Storage Shipment? You will need to provide the following: --Signed DD form 1299 (Application) --Signed DD form 1797 ( Counselor's Checklist) --Official Orders and Amendments *Executing a Home of Record Move? Please provide the above documents AND please include a copy of your Enlistment Record Brief (ERB). *Executing a Personally Procured Move (PPM)? Our office will need a copy of your Official Orders and a counselor will process the documents in the system for you to complete your PPM at destination. *Please see the below links to access the IT'S YOUR MOVE PAMPHLETS.
