As daylight savings draws nearer, be sure to change out your batteries in your smoke and CO detectors! It’s a good time of year to swap those out to make sure your devices are working properly. Be sure to hit that TEST button on each device to ensure proper functionality.
Stay informed and put a FREEZE on winter fires!
The Warren Fire Department spent hours yesterday making sure hydrants were cleared. Please do your part- if you see one covered in snow, please take a little extra time and clear it off. It’ll save time when time is of the essence. Thank you all!
This should not happen. Water supply is delayed at a structure fire in Johnston, RI this evening because the closest hydrant is covered in snow.
Remember to clear out your hydrants!
The Warren Fire Department went out in an attempt to clear as many hydrants as possible- but there were definitely some that were missed. So please help us - if you know there’s a covered hydrant on or near your property- please clear it off as soon as possible. Thank you!
With this winter storm, if you have a fire hydrant on or near your property, please try and maintain them using the image below. This ensures that the fire department has access to the water if it is needed and saves time when seconds matter.
Reminder that all fire stations are warming shelters as well as the community room (Andreozzi Hall) at Kickemuit Village at 20 Libby Lane.
On behalf of the Central Fire Company, we want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. Thank you for all the support you’ve given to us over the years.
Have a wonderful New Years. Be safe and stay warm!

BREAKING: Fire broke out just after 9:30 this morning at a home on Poppasquash Road in Bristol. Jared Pliner - WPRI will have the latest developments on Eyewitness News at Noon.
Horrible scene in Newport last night.
Make sure to check that your fire alarms and smoke detectors in your homes are working properly!
And while you’re at it- make sure those CO detectors are also working; this is the time of year that fire departments get the most carbon monoxide related calls due to heating sources.
Officials told Eyewitness News firefighters found an elderly man inside. After performing CPR, they rushed him to Newport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Warren Engine 1 and 3 responded to assist fire personnel from multiple cities and towns with interior operations at this fire. Warren Rescue 1 and 3 also responded to assist at the fire ground.
A job well done by all.

No shortage of people with good things to say about the outgoing fire chief.
There will never be another one like our Chief. Chief, your level of dedication and love for the Town of Warren, its citizens and the members of the fire department is unparalleled and will be greatly missed. The majority of Warren will never know all that you've done behind the scenes and out of the spotlight to make our little town a better and safer place. Rest assured that those who have seen your quiet and noble work will never forget your bravery and your selfless spirit. Thank you Chief and congratulations on many years of service to 02885 and to those who call it home

Every August, the Warren Fire Department works with an EMT program from Brown University to give the students an up close and personal experience with the dangers and challenges that come with Motor Vehicle Accidents. The students are given the chance to test the skills they've learned with Triage and Trauma care under realistic conditions, complete with crumpled cars and multiple trapped "victims". It also gives our members a chance for realistic vehicle extrication training while also working with EMS personnel to remove priority patients quickly and safely. Today was another successful demo day. Thank you to the Brown EMS students and staff for joining us again for another year and to all our members who worked to make it a success!!

Great video providing a little insight into a volunteer department. This is very much the case for the Town of Warren. We are always in need of extraordinary citizens to join our ranks and help us answer the call everyday!
There’s a fire. You call for help. Who answers? The vast majority of Americans live in places that don’t have a single firefighter on the payroll.…
