Firefighters and EMTs from all companies gathered at Station 6 this morning for an Ice/Cold Water Rescue Refresher. This training is conducted annually, and was instructed by Chief Sousa and Lieutenant Cabral of Engine 3. Members were provided with knowledge of how to extricate a person or an animal out of a break in the ice, with equipment specifically used for such scenario that is kept on Special Hazards and Tower Ladder 1. Once temperatures drop, you may see our firefighters practicing their skills on area ponds/reservoirs.

08 October 2019 - At 10:29hrs, Engine 6 was requested to respond mutual-aid to the Town of Somerset to extinguish a fire at Brayton Point Power Plant. During demolition, the site did not have an adequate water supply, therefore the need of a tanker shuttle was presented. E6 shuttled approximately 10,000 gallons of water from the closest hydrant to the firefighters who needed it on the scene.

On Monday August 12, 2019, Engines 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 , 1, Tower Ladder 1, and Rescue were dispatched along with out-of- town Companies to a structure fully involved with fire on Touisset Point. Upon arrival, E-6 and Car 1 were met with just that, heavy and deteriorating fire conditions. With a limited water supply, Mutual Aid Tankers were requested to shuttle water from the nearest hydrant to the fire scene.
Engine 6 was on scene for about 10 hours in total to fully extinguish the blaze and to protect surrounding homes. Nobody was hurt.
We thank our neighbors and supporters for the cold bottled water, chairs, and wet towels to keep our volunteers cool and hydrated. We’d also like to thank surrounding communities for providing much needed manpower and apparatus throughout the incident.

The Officers and Members of Engine Co. 6 regret to announce the passing of Active Fire Lieutenant: Matthew Harris of Engine Co. 5.
Lt. Harris was a honorable member of the Warren Fire Department for many years. He responded to numerous incidents in that time and participated in many Department charity functions. When he wasn’t on the Engine, responding to calls, he acted as a liaison between those needing help and first responders on the front line as a Police/Fire Dispatcher in Warren.
Lt. Harris impacted many, many lives in a positive manner. He had an infectious smile, and would always leave you with laughter. He was taken too soon, and the Department now has a void that will never be filled.
Thank you for your exceptional service and dedication to the Town of Warren. Rest In Peace, Lieutenant.
