National Disease Intervention Specialist Day

Today, October 2, we recognize National Disease Intervention Specialist Day and the dedicated professionals working behind the scenes to protect the health of our communities.

Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) are public health “disease detectives” who help prevent and control the spread of disease through case investigation, contact tracing, education, connecting people to care, and compassionate support.

We’re proud to celebrate our East Central Health District DIS team and thank them for the important work they do every day to keep our communities healthy and safe.
