More than 200 residents responded to our road safety survey, with nearly 150 identifying speeding as their top concern. Where exactly are residents seeing speeding as a problem? Swipe through to see these areas identified across the Villages of Warwick, Greenwood Lake, and Florida.

These responses, along with an analysis of crashes throughout the Town of Warwick, are helping inform the Transportation Safety Action Plan and guide future safety improvements.

Our Transportation Safety Action Plan starts with listening to our community.

Through surveys, stakeholder interviews, and community meetings, residents shared concerns about speeding, pedestrian and cyclist safety, crosswalks, sidewalks, and visibility.

📍Community Spotlight Thursday!

This week, we are highlighting the intersection that connects Colonial Ave with Main St in the Village of Warwick.

This intersection sees traffic coming from multiple directions, making it especially important to stay alert. Drivers turning right onto Colonial Avenue should remember to yield to vehicles already turning left onto Colonial Avenue before proceeding.

Knowing who has the right-of-way and taking a few extra seconds to look twice can help keep Warwick moving safely.

Stop by, grab yours, and help remind everyone to slow down, stay alert, and keep Warwick safe for pedestrians, bicyclists, drivers, and neighbors of all ages.

The Slow Down Warwick campaign is part of the Village’s larger effort to reduce speeding, improve pedestrian and bicycle safety, and create safer streets throughout our community.

The Town of Warwick and our three Villages continue to work on our Townwide Transportation Safety Action Plan. This video will bring you up to speed on what we’ve done so far and what is coming next. It recaps what we heard in the first phase of public outreach, shares findings from our crash analysis and stakeholder interviews, and highlights the priority locations we have identified for improvements, along with what kind of improvements are being considered. Walking to school should never feel unsafe.

For many children, crossing the street means standing next to vehicles that seem much bigger and much closer than they do to adults. A few extra seconds of patience behind the wheel can make a difference.

As you drive through Warwick, especially near schools, crosswalks, and sidewalks, remember to slow down and watch for pedestrians.
