PRISCILLA ZANNI BERTRÁN
Priscil.la Zanni

HVFF alum Ethan Knecht conducted our hands-free on his drive home from the Bronx. Fittingly, the interview is like his film ‘Commuting,’ which screened at this year’s HVFF. On this ride, he called Priscilla.

Director. Writer. Actress. Catalan-born, New York-based filmmaker. NYFA filmmaker. And one seriously bubbly & infectious .

Priscilla first came into the HVFF orbit with ‘Cast & Brew,’ and our audience fell in love, awarding the film the 2025 HVFF Audience Choice Award. We fell a little bit in love, too.

Her latest film, ‘Wrong Move,’ is a dark horror comedy about an obsessive stage mother, social media perfectionism, the wrong dance move...and a worldwide blackout. You know. Normal internet stuff.

Behind the absurdity is something very real: the endless pursuit of perfection and what happens when our digital lives begin replacing actual human connection.

WILL AMMANN + EMMA BEEMAN
Will Ammann Em

HVFF alum Ethan Knecht has a film called Commuting in this year’s Fest. Fittingly, he conducts our interviews while doing exactly that: hands-free on his drive home from the Bronx. This time, he called Will and Emma.

Filmmaker. Visual storyteller. Maker of strange & things. Will Ammann is a Pacific Northwest-born filmmaker and graduate of Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film & Media Arts whose work leans into surrealism, dramatic imagery & visual storytelling.

His film The Fates and the Holly King follows three witches guided through cycles of change by the mysterious Holly King. Will directed the film and co-wrote it with Emma Beeman, who also designed the costumes and appears in the film.

The film began with a realization. Preparing to leave Seattle for Los Angeles, Will looked back at the three years he’d spent there and realized he hadn’t filmed anything. In fact, he hadn’t made a film since graduating college. So he and Emma decided to change that.

Drawing from their shared fascination with neopagan , the cycles of nature & dramatic imagery, they made The Fates and the Holly King. Sometimes making something requires cracking yourself back open.

THE FATES AND THE HOLLY KING receives the 2026 HVFF CRACKED OPEN AWARD.

See it TONIGHT Warwickdrivein
