Office of the Chief of Engineers Welcome. OCE welcomes LTC Mark Gregris, Operations Branch Chief; MAJ Trell Barber, National Guard Integration; and Rick Morales, Engineer Organizational Integrator Team.

We also welcome back LTC Jon Brierton, Deputy Chief of Engineers for Reserve Affairs Chief of Staff.

Today on the 242nd birthday of the formation of the Corps of Engineers, the Office of the Chief of Engineers held its annual muster. We were honored to have LTG Todd T. Semonite, 54th Chief of Engineers, as our main speaker. We celebrated our past and remembered those that have fallen and looked forward to the future of our great institution. Also in attendance were the honorable Geoffrey Prosch, former Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations and Environment; COL (Ret) Dave Theisen, AEA Director; SES (Ret) Mohan Singh; and notable engineers from across the National Capital Region. LTG (Ret) Max Noah attended in absentia.

LTC Julie Balten presented material on the 249th Engineer Battalion's efforts in World War II at Nierstein Germany.

MAJ John Beck presented material on the largest Regiment ever in the US Army, the 20th Engineers commemorating the 100th Anniversary of World War I.

MAJ Tammy Wilson narrated the program and presented material about the 18th Engineer Brigade's formation for Vietnam commemorating the 50th Anniversary.

Our Director, COL Allan Webster hosted our event and gave a moving tribute to our lost Soldiers.

The Office of the Chief of Engineers bids a fond farewell to Mr. Alfred Channels upon his retirement from Civil Service. Mr. Channels worked in our Operations Branch for many years. He was presented the Bronze De Fleury Medal and Superior Civilian Service Award for his service to the Engineer Regiment. Best wishes go out to Fred for continued success.

The Office of the Chief of Engineers bids a fond farewell to Mr. Robert (Joe) Mitchell. Mr. Robert J. Mitchell is presented the Department of the Army Superior Civilian Service Award for exceptionally meritorious service 13 April 2009 to 30 September 2016, while serving as Military Planning Specialist at the Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with duty at the Office of the Chief of Engineers, Pentagon. Mr. Mitchell’s steadfast devotion to duty were instrumental in getting multiple engineer requirements processed through the Army’s many complex acquisition systems and fielding procedures. Mr. Mitchell’s numerous contributions have had world-wide impact and advanced the national security goals and objectives of the Army, the Department of Defense and the Nation. His demonstrated dedication to duty, honor, and country brings great credit upon himself, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of the Army.

The Office of the Chief of Engineers routinely holds an Engineer Roundup for engineers and friends of the engineer in the National Capital Region. Last night we were honored to have in attendance LTG Todd Semonite, Chief of Engineers and his wife Connie; MG Mike Wehr, Mississippi Valley Division Commander; and newly promoted BG Rich Heitkamp, NORTHCOM; along with all the usual engineer crowd. The event offers a chance for attendees to catch up and see what's going on in the engineer community.

The Office of the Chief of Engineers held their Engineer Muster on 16 Jun 16 at the Pentagon Conference Center. LTG Todd T. Semonite, Chief of Engineers, was the guest speaker. He drove home the point that when Engineers were needed, they were there and personally signed Muster Cards for those who had not had them issued. CSM Antonio Jones, OCE Senior Staff NCO, recognized the fallen Engineer Soldiers. COL Allan Webster, OCE director, hosted the ceremony and MAJ John Beck narrated a brief history of the Engineer Regiment.
