Sight seeing 🙈
Just curious. Any chance the FAA will come out with a unit to allow 107 pilots to fly at night? Something where it is made to your specs and our drones? The device could be bound to our drone registration, so the information is easy to find. As long as the amount wasn't something insane, it might be something to look at. Perhaps with an additional cert to go with it. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Can anyone, other than the FAA, tell me why we as drone enthusiasts aren't up in arms over part 107? I have paid for the drone. I have paid to register that drone with the FAA and agreed to fly in accordance with your rules under said registration. So I can take as many pictures as I want and still fly in accordance to your rules perfectly legally but the moment I want to sell a picture I have to pay you more money to get a part 107? Absolutely not. Asinine.
Good evening, is there someone with the FAA who can provide viewers of this page with an update on the proposed rule that would allow small UAS flights at night and over people? I've heard that disposition of the proposal is due on December 1st. Thank you in advance for your efforts to keep pilots informed!
Does anyone know if the Part 107 can still be extended for six months online.
This is happening all across the US, so many people are violating FAA regs and delivering packages BVLOS, Ops. Over people and Ops. Over moving vehicles it’s become the norm. These operators are normalizing the risk without type certification, part 135 or frankly any care for aviation safety. If anything because we are seeing zero enforcement from the FAA it seems as if these operations are ok.
Also quite surprising to see AUVSI posting this when clearly operations over people is violated and there is no parazero safe air system installed on the drone.
It would be really nice to get the FAAs position on drone delivery during covid-19.
Is the "Online sUAS Registration" site having problems? Under both Chrome & Safari browsers, I'm getting this error:
These simple CDC precautions could save lives.
This page only has pictures of autonomous quadcopters on it. Here’s a picture of a line of site operated model airplane that has zero autonomous flying equipment and no camera.
If you care about personal flight please comment on Remote ID before March 2.
Remote ID, as proposed, kills model aviation without any valid reason. This threatens the future of all personal aviation.
As a third generation flyer, it is a terrible shock that our beloved hobby and the sky I fly in could be taken away.
Remote ID is, unnecessarily, a takeover of our low altitude and private airspace.
The blow that is being delivered to the model aviation community could come next to manned recreational aviation.
Our sky is a natural resource and a place to discover the joy of flight. Those of us who know what it means to fly must speak up today. If you love to fly, dream of flying, or wish to see future pilots and aircraft take to the sky, please comment on Remote ID today.
A new group has just been formed that intends to integrate Hobby Shop Owners and interested parties into the mix and is intended to foster the continued efforts to keep the recreational and hobby aircraft sector alive and well - in a rational and professional forum for discussion and sharing ideas. Membership criteria may appear rather stringent, but if forward and proactive progress is to be assured - it is hoped that the criteria will bring the best and most informed people and organizations "to the table" and not to clutter discussion with potentially false information, personal feelings, or distracting information. If you feel you do not meet the intent of the criteria (sorry to limit membership at this critical time in our industry) - we're sure you know someone who does - Please feel free to share this post with them. Thank you.🇺🇸👍

The fact that the FAA keeps using the word “drone” to mean hundreds of different types of sUAS shows me that the FAA’s become totally and completely clueless.
