Dr. Vivian Vega: Get vaccinated and boosted now

The science shows our best shot at fighting emerging variants like the surging Omicron is by getting the COVID-19 vaccine and a booster—which are safe and effective.

The CDC recommends that all adults who received an original two-dose regimen of Pfizer or Moderna at least six months ago, or a J&J vaccine at least two months ago, should get a booster.

As we look to protect ourselves and our families against the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is offering vaccines and booster shots to all veterans and their spouses, household family members, and caregivers across the nation, as a result of Chairman @SenatorTester’s bipartisan SAVE LIVES Act.

So defend yourself, your family, and friends against the spread of these new variants, and schedule your vaccine or booster today. Learn more about how to get your COVID-19 vaccine and booster at VA HERE: https://www.va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/

Today, our National President Justin Jump and Director of Legislative Affairs Bill McCabe had the honor of virtually presenting our “Legislator of The Year” Award to the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman, Senator Jon Tester. Senator Tester and staff have worked tirelessly to ensure #servicemembers, #veterans, #caregivers and their families receive the care and benefits they have rightfully earned. We look forward to our continued partnership to address many pressing issues this year, especially regarding #ToxicExposures, #MentalHealth, and #ConcurrentReceipt.
Good news — today the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee has moved the TREA backed Veterans’ Prostate Cancer Treatment and Research Act forward. This bipartisan legislation to expand treatment and research of #prostatecancer to help diagnose and treat #veterans through VA, which is the number one cancer diagnosed by the Veterans Health Administration.
Why is the Major Richard Star Act (owed disability retirement for combat) not getting the attention needed? We haven’t taken care of the 40k Veterans who have earned their retirement.
Kicked off Veterans Day by discussing my top veterans priorities with Tom from Cherry Creek Media and Paul and Ron from KBOW. As Chairman of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, I'm fighting hard to get our vets the care and benefits they've earned. Thanks for having me on!
Taking care of our veterans suffering from toxic exposure is the cost of war, and I'm fighting as Chairman of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee to get these vets the care and benefits they've earned. Grateful to advocates Jon Stewart and John Feal for understanding the importance of getting this done.
i just put this on a post defozeo put out about the new child money coming out. but sir what about me and the million marines poisoned at camp Lejeune thru 1987. we are dyeing everyday. i am one of less than 200,000 marines of a million still alive, but i do not fell well at all. i am paralyzed in a wheelchair because of it. please help. VA denies us compensation and the real medical you only get with comp. please do not let me die alone and denied for answering my country's call sir
TREA is in full support of the Cost of War Act and looks forward to working with both the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee and House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs on getting it to the President’s desk.
I had the honor of welcoming Montana’s very own Gen. Matthew T. Quinn at a Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee confirmation hearing yesterday to consider his nomination to serve as Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs. Having worked closely with him as the head of Montana’s National Guard, Quinn cares deeply about our servicemembers, veterans and their families, and I have full confidence he can get the job done.
Providing our veterans the health care and benefits they've earned is a cost of war—plain and simple. That's why as Chairman of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman, I'm pushing to take bold, comprehensive action to provide benefits to veterans suffering from the effects of toxic exposure.
Will you please look at the incomplete information that the VA has on me? Full name me, and first and last me, needs to be the same person!
As Chairman of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, I believe we’ve got to address toxic exposure in a way that’s science-based and veteran-focused. Today, I met with Wounded Warrior Project to discuss how we can do just that, and help ensure these veterans get their long-overdue benefits and care.
As Chairman of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, I believe it’s critical that we do more for veterans suffering from toxic exposure. Glad for the chance to host long-time advocate Jon Stewart and FealGood Foundation founder John Feal in the office today to discuss the importance of ensuring these veterans get the care and benefits they’ve earned.
