This past year has highlighted the global importance of public procurement. We witnessed the vulnerabilities involved as governments raced to procure PPE, ventilators, and other necessary resources at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, and now procurement of vaccines. New DG paper series alert! Over the last few years at DG, we’ve worked to design solutions that focus not only on gathering key extractives sector #data, but also helping our partners boost #datause.

HIV/AIDS Response Through Youth-Led Community Mapping in Côte d’Ivoire | Development Gateway

To build #data awareness and to increase data-informed decision-making in Côte d'Ivoire, Des Chiffres et des Jeunes Fellows & local youth organized a mapathon that focused on getting community resources, landmarks, and risk zones in #Daloa on the map. The mapathon contributed to a new health data platform that can be used by HIV/AIDS implementing partners to make better decisions based on community needs.
